The cheap $99 will be more expensive than the iphone 5 at tmobile for mothers day. iphone 4 is free from the major USA carriers.

Your saying iPhone 4s are given away contact free for free? Isn't that like giving away free money.

If you had a Toto S300 in your house, you probably wouldn't use toilet paper either. You might also be in the market for low-cost phones - it just depends where you want to put your money.

The market where this phone is first to go on sale is India.

Are you claiming that toilet paper usage is widespread in India? I have checked numerous sources on the web, and toilet paper is not common at all, it's rare.

It was in use when my father lived there, 40 years ago. No, I suppose it's 50 now… How time flies.

Actually to a lot of the 7 Billion people on this planet, toilet paper is an unnecessary luxury.

So, let me get this straight, $99 is the cost of the low end phones and $100 is the cost oh the high end/flagship phones.

One is subsudised and the other isn't

That's what you get when you dump a clean, portable rewrite of Windows called Windows CE that was designed for low powered, low memory devices and replace it with a port of x86 Windows.

Laugh out loud at what I presume is meant to be derogatory. If you got doo doo on your arm or any other part of your body than what you use toilet paper for, would you get a piece of paper and wipe it off or wash it off? Well some people, even people who are very wealthy  choose to wash poop off. Go figger.

Is mental derangement a reason for banning? Or would that be considered unforgiving to the mentally challenged? Just wondering ... :D

On to the actual thread topic......

Nokia has been executing really well in my opinion. They have a range of phones at different price points and a clear style that is all their own. Those S40 based phones aka Asha are great little devices and well engineered to deliver the best bang for the buck in emerging markets. Whenever I've read about these phones they come bundled with whatsapp, and Nokia has an arrangement with EA where they get 40 games for each phone. They also have a browser that compresses data like Opera Mini for the 2g networks where most of these phones are sold.

For a household that only has $100 to spend on a phone, it is a tremendous value. Every review I've read about the Lumia 520 and 620 indicate they are great phones at their price point.

The 928 represents the first time really that Nokia and Verizon have decided to work together on a compelling offering. While I loath Verizon, they could probably help Nokia move some big numbers just like they did with Motorola back in the day. That doesn't mean the company is going to topple Apple, that Apple is going to die or that Nokia is going to own the market even. It does mean that Elop gave us his plan and the company really seems to be executing well on it. To me, it gives Nokia a better chance than most other cell companies that aren't making a dime and it probably shows given what has happened to HTC and others that Nokia was wise to avoid Android.

I bought some Nokia stock this week and it's gained 4% on a nice little pop. Nokia appears to be executing well.

That was when England owned it. Same with Africa.

Since they insisted on their independence they have both gone down hill and luxuries have gone.

I'm with Apple II on this one.

About four billion people don't use toilet paper. About 70% - 75 % of the world’s population does not use toilet paper.

Why would you purposely write something stupid instead of trying to write something that makes sense and carries a conversation?
