There is no landscape mode for the home screen on iPhone. I don't think there will ever be one because:

In portrait mode, there are 4 columns and 6 rows. The bottom row is for the "dock", leaving you with 4 x 5 or 20 spots for app icons.

In landscape mode, there are 4 rows and 6 columns. If the system uses that bottom row as the "dock", you're left with 3 x 8 or 18 spots. That means, when you rotate the screen, two apps might have to be bumped off to another screen.

I think there is a serious lack of understanding about this. It was never about choosing one standard font, weight, width, etc. IOS7 unprecedentedly supports optical scaling. It just wasn't implemented yet for the system font in the first two beta releases. Now that it is implemented in this release, the text type automatically and dynamically follows design rules (and user preferences!!!).

Do you have any sourcing or references to verify this? I'm a developer using the beta and don't see anything regarding this in the release notes for beta 3. Not attacking, just trying to verify it since you're the first I've seen to post this explanation.

I too am interested in learning more.

    Some really good moves.

Glad to see the .com button move (or worse, the .co.uk button if you're in the UK, in spite of the fact that the bulk of sites I visit of the .com variety), it was a big annoyance for me.

Dots in calendar is nice, I guess, though it wasn't really a biggie for me.

However, I think the move away from the Ultralight font is a step in the wrong direction, for me. I like how clean and smart the UI looked with the lighter weight lines. Since all devices it will run on, (except the iPad Mini) have retina display, I thought it really shone on them.

I think a bolder font should be a user selectable option, either under the "text size" slider, or else as an accessibility toggle, but I, for one, would be more than happy to see the return of ultralight font's to the UI, and would probably be forced to jailbreak to bring it back if Apple don't replace it, at least as an option, themselves.

How do you change the color of the dots in the calander. The gray color washes and blends in to much I would like my appointments to stand out, which means a bright color.
