Oh well. I guess I am finally throwing in the towel: the cheap plastic iPhone is coming.

At least, I hope it doesn't show up in that dumb-looking, plastic, mini-bathtub packaging. :\

    Yup.

This is a sad day for Apple IMO.

We'll see what the finished product looks like but as of right now I am very disappointed.

Oh well let's just hope these phones are $299 each.

Whatever happened to spy shots of iWatch prototypes?
Maybe the doubling down all happened in Apple HQ.

It's easier to double down on leaks of a product that isn't being mass produced at all. I'm sure closer to the unveil of the iWatch we'll see different parts leak from the factory.

    Now, now, be nice.

Besides, the the moment that Samsung starts shipping its cheaper phones in white Tupperware tubs as well, everyone will suddenly decide that Apple's packaging is unique and clever.  image

I already think it is.  Imagine all the uses that those tubs can have in emerging regions.

I'm actually a little disappointed that Apple didn't join up with that guy who invented that cheap gravity based generator for places without electricity.  That would be super cool.

Yes there will, I believe the upcoming iPhone 5S/6 will come with a 128 GB option as an added differentiator from the lower end 5C.

The iPhone 3G/3GS were plastic, the original MacBooks and iMacs were plastic, even the original MacPros had translucent plastic coverings, but pretty much everybody at the time liked them well enough, a quality product is a quality product even if its not made of metal.

Yeah, they can use it as a soap dish.

It has to be something different from the iPhone already out and not just cheaper.

I think this will be a super-thin iPhone that will be super light and will keep the current screen size.

The other iPhone will gain a bigger screen.

One will be the big one with the high end specs, the other will be the thin one with previous gen specs. Much the same way the Air and Pro are different.

The "C" stands for compact. The selling price will start at $400

    All opinion btw.

That worker needs to become an ex worker. Hopefully they will lose their job and be unable to provide for their family. Whatever happened to doubling down on security?

With an attitude like that, hopefully YOU lose your job and are unable to provide for your family.

This is a rumor site. Leakers are our heroes.

    Yep.

If it looks like the mock-up, I'll probably be getting one as my next phone, just as soon as it's jailbreakable. (No, I WON'T own a product that I can't install anything I choose on.)

I HATE the design of my current 4, it's much less comfortable to hold than my old 3gs, and the antenna design is really stupid. I'm frequently holding it so that the antennas bridge, and then it drops the cell signal. Plastic is really the way to go on a phone.

I have a friend with a 5, the battery life is awful. If Apple would stop with the stupid thin fetish and go for battery life, their phones would be MUCH better. This one looks like they may have done just that.

I hope it comes in black.

Anyway, I already hate the aluminum iPhone. Steel, I trust. Plastic and aluminum, no thanks. I hope the next iPhone design (6) uses a non-scratchable material, because my 4 is getting long-in-the-tooth.
