Apple TV v4 here we come, I hope it's a actual improvement unlike last time where 2 things changed and one mostly software.

Eh? We got 1080p, Bluetooth, twice the RAM, and a faster processor on the 3rd gen.

Manufacturing an entire television in a low-margin market makes no sense. However, an entirely revamped Apple TV set-top box with more powerful hardware, third-party app support, À la carte subscription model Internet television, a revolutionary user interface and iOS device game controls makes perfect sense. I think it is what Steve was talking about in Walter Isaacson's biography.

This may be what we've all been waiting for. Add it to any existing household with an HDTV and broadband and... BOOM!

It would be a whole new revolution in television entertainment just like the iPod was to the music industry in the early 2000's.

well there's this new technology that's being introduced by small video companies that allow for a 360 video to be filmed and then a user can switch around the video in real time after it's filmed. Maybe big movie studios will buy into the concept and start making movies in 360

Why? So you can see the dozens of people and mountains of equipment that are now hidden behind the camera? They all gotta be somewhere...

It's great that their demo video has NEXT TO NOTHING happening in it, in any direction. Yeah, good choice there.

They could use green screens to interlace video with other footage or the audience in the theatre and you could be added in the movie via virtual reality as well computed in real time much like photo booth works. Heck realtime computed virtual reality could allow movie developers to allow users to customize their movie experience by creating multiple background choices, themes, and audible noise levels of the actions happening in the movie. Including the weather, clothes colors, lighting in the movie if you want to see a darker movie instead of a sunny one if you're watching it at night, and many other things.

That was just an example of an iPhone device by a small company... sigh.

By defaulting to basic product features that may be in the next Apple TV update... it could include... Wifi AC, a A5X Processor based on 28nm die size, smaller form factor, or newly integrated live channel programming from Internet channels... And a new way to interact with the interface.. i.e. an app with voice activated search or improved recommended shows, Internet channels, and music discovery via iTunes Radio.
