    Id guess if any of the employees really are concerned it would probably depend largely on what team there in. If your working on a product with massive profits like windows, office, sharepoint etc then you probably wouldnt be that worried. But Microsoft have huge research teams working on stuff that isnt ever going to be sold. There just doing reasearch on the basis that it might be useful in the future.

    I imagine the guys working on developing tools to predict how hiv will tansform in order to aid determining which drugs would work best in 3rd world countries might be a little worried as there employment is based more on Gates' desire to save the world rather than any business reason. A new ceo may be less keen to fund deliberate loss making projects.
