Perhaps he is newly rich, and hasn't told his uncle.

Strictly judging by their post count, it would be safe to assume that most others here haven't, either.

The girl in my life gives me permission to do this, so no worries! ;-)

Is the headline writer in the UK? "Livery" is an uncommon word in the US, unless one is describing a uniform (typically).

Why do you think the 5c will not be available/announced in the U.S. on 9/10?

Don't forget the 5C in other developing nations with a fetish for colored plastic, like The Netherlands ¡

I really hope that's the case, I am worried that Apple is diluting their iPhone brand unnecessarily in the Western markets with an iPhone 5C. The iPad mini was one thing, they were addressing the gap in the market that they had intentionally/unintentionally created when Steve Jobs described any tablet less than 10 inches accross, as not being worthy of the name "tablet" (though I think he said not worthy of existing...:D

But in the case of an iPhone 5C, they are simply going after market share, while yes spreading the iOS experience. But other than the Fingerprint authentication, what differences are there expected to be between the iPhone 5S on the iPhone 5C beyond the plastic back of the iPhone 5C?

Can't use that word- the French have already threatened to sue if it is tomorrow.

"Ghetto sparkling wine" color doesn't sound all that catchy.

There is an awful lot of excitement over Apple's putting a plastic colorful case on an iPhone 5.

I guess the new plastic case turns the iPhone 5 into something bright, cool and new.  It's a Cool New Thing, rather than just The Old IPhone I Got Because I Was Too Cheap To Buy The New One.

Whatever happens, the stock will go down... because it just will.  As an Apple investor, I have learned to accept and even expect that.

"APPL goes down on good news."

With all respect, I think you are missing the point of both the iPad mini and the iPhone 5C, if it looks like the leaked case parts. Both of these devices are—will be—perceived as highly desirable on their own, however unconsciously by those who are susceptible to this kind of lovability, or, if you like, this kind of fetishism. Jony Ive knows what he's doing. He appeals to the fingers and the hand as much as to the eye. If you can't "see" this, there are simple tactile exercises you can do to open up this area of sensitivity. It has become common in our two-dimensional media world to have lost the use of the tactile part of the sensorium. Part of Apple's legacy has been to assist in leaving behind this sorry state of sense deprivation. We have Jobs and Ive to thank for it, to large extent, as well as others in design at Apple.

Will the event be webcast or broadcast on web feed like so many Apple events in the past? It seems that recently Apple has stopped doing this sort of thing, and the only "broadcasts" are from live bloggers on the floor...no video feed.

Does anybody know if Apple is broadcasting this?

They broadcasted live to Apple TV at WWDC 13 and safari on the Mac. They definitely want people to see it.

The "5c" can't be a re skinned 5 since the 5 isn't fully China Mobile compatible, would be my speculation.

I'm surprised there aren't more last minute rumors. Once Apple reveals what they're doing for 2013, there's not much room for rumors until next year.

There will always be something noteworthy to report on AI, about sales figures, what the competition does etc. you hear Microsoft is launching the next iteration of Surface 2 Tablets on Sep 23 ?
