Here's some things to know about Amazon:

-- This is pitched as a "rumor" but it's coming from within Amazon.  Amazon does intentional leakes to try and build up hype.

-- Amazon is a prfoundly dishonest company. Rather than report sales for kindle, they will "leak" numbers via their PR agency to make people believe kindle is a success.

-- Amazon just develops a lot of crap to see what will stick.

-- The only thing good they ever did was customer service in the 1990s... since then it's all been crap, that's heavily hyped.

For some reason the "press" wants to think Amazon is a tech company so they hype their crap as if it isn't crap.

And I mean CRAP.  Worse than google, worse than Microsoft.   Amazon has engineers but they abuse them so they never get good work from them.   AWS, for instance, is dog slow and costs way too much but they manage to hype it enough that people delude themselves into believing it's good.

All the BS people say about Apple- that's its a cult, that it's all hype and marketing, no substance-- these are actually true about Amazon, but because they are true the propaganda is effective and so we get the fantasy that amazon is shipping android in volume, or really competing with apple presented as fact.

Remember amazon movie studios? How much are they going to lose there?  Will they just quietly shut them down like they have literally thousands of hyped initiatives in the past?

Remember how Steve Jobs talked about Focus?

Amazon is the anti-Apple.  In every way.

In unrelated news, the DOJ has opened an inquiry of Apple regarding the AppleTV.

If true, I don't think this will be a worthy competitor to the Apple TV. For starters, Amazon's app store doesn't come close to the offerings of the iOS App store. If they intend to copy Apple with an Airplay type feature for Kindle's, there won't be nearly the quality of offerings that Apple has. If it's anything like the Kindle, I'm sure it will come with advertisements the minute you turn it on. I'm sure Amazon will charge a fee to remove those advertisements. Amazon's business model for their products seems to be release cheap crap at a loss and hope you make up the difference from people buying stuff from Amazon through their devices.

anyone try iRadio yet? Not sure why Apple invested in a dying medium...

Discovery for one thing. They have tied the store into this quite a bit to enourage sales.

And they could end up selling a few 'empty' Match accounts to folks that just want to turn off the ads and feel that $25 a year is an okay price for that.

Great, why would I want this?

And on this topic, sue Roku for stealing the Apple TV design. Sue Motorola for stealing the iPod nano design. It’s disgusting.

Similar but not lawsuit worthy. I don't believe Roku's lawyers would make the same mistake Samsung's did.

Well, I still have a good experience with them when I shop. If any product is lost during transit, they have always either reimbursed the amount or sent another one, even if they are not the direct sellers and it is from their Marketplace.

I haven't tried any of their hardware, nor am I interested in any of it, but their service is still top notch IMO.

Oh look you've got a new enemy isn't that nice.  Does that add to Microsoft and Google in your bile filled little world?
