Interesting, so service outages is more of an industry event ... But at least the most hottest services from Google, like Search and Public Gmail, stay up and running all the time.
Wrong again.
Last Gmail outage was less than four weeks ago; about ten million people affected.
These services go down all the time, but most people don't notice because the outage usually affects a small proportion of users. And most outages go unreported – except Apple's of course which, oddly enough, are most often reported here in order to get the troll numbers up.
New 5S arrived last night, and I restored from cloud starting at 9 pm last night with no issues. I'm thinking it's not as extensive as it's being made out to be.

The majority of Apple outages aren't reported either. This would be at least the eighth one that I know of in about a month and a half. There may have been others. Apple dumps their Cloud Status charts after three days so it's very difficult to compare to uptimes for Amazon, Microsoft or Google over any length of time.
A quick look at Google over the past two months shows there were 8 days that had an outage lasting at least 5 minutes with at least one of their services. They can do better too.
