I'm just listening to some music on my 64GB iPad retina with Sennheiser Momentum headphones, that's a $5000 Breitling watch as I post this on my 15" retina MacBook Pro with the CPU and SSD upgraded to the max, I took this rather poor quick snap with my 64GB iPhone 5s.

I don't know how I can live with such poor quality, I guess I'll just have to make do.

Well, Instead of paying $5000 for a watch, I paid $500 for a Movado that tells time just as well, and I listen to music on a Late 2012 iMac with a 1TB Fusion drive running through a Meridian Director USB DAC, through some entry level Transparent The Link interconnects, to a pair of Paradigm Shift A2s with now some high resolution files from HD Tracks that sound much better than the uncompressed 16bit files I had and i can crank it up to various levels, so actually, all told, I probably spend less money overall.  Hmmmmm.  You have some advantage in some areas than I, but in other areas I have an advantage.  It's all what we want, need and are happy with.  I only got the iPad 4 with 16GB since I hardly use it as much as I do my desktop and my aging iPhone 4 8G does just fine for my needs currently, but I'm waiting for the larger screen iPhone so I can snub my nose (just joking)......  It's all what floats one boat.

FYI, I haven't heard the Momentum headphones.  Have you tried the Sennheiser HD800's?  You should check out the Light Harmonic USB headphone DAC, it's only $300, so you can enjoy high res downloads.

Wow, what a pathetic cesspool of a thread.

"I don't even know what I'm bothering to respond to you..."

It's because you don't have anything better to do.

Hey dude, this one's worth $6000

With a bit of care and an occasional service it should last over a hundred years and I or my heirs can always sell it.

I like fine Swiss craftsmanship, I enjoy having these things, Apple gives me the same sense of pleasure.

    It is worth paying for.

So, what's your excuse? You didn't even add on to it? Mindless?

To who? I wouldn't pay $6,000 for that one. If I'm going to pay $6,000 for a watch, it's had better be like GOLD or PLATINUM, or something else. Heck, my Movado is even Gold plated and I didn't even pay $1,000 for mine, and it's just as well made as anything else. I doubt I'm going to have any major problems with it other than replacing batteries.

    LOL.....

Yeah, but don't you have to get those expensive watch winders to constantly wind them up when the thing's not in use?   Batteries aren't that expensive.

Nah, I just put them in my safe and reset and rewind them when I want to wear them, I usually rotate them, wear them for around a week at a time or I feel like a change.

I've got a similar Seiko, a blue baby tuna, Japanese and Chinese are a lower priced entry into the world of automatic watches.

$5K to $6K for a watch is like a new MacPro..... Or a better stereo, etc. etc.   My watch tells time just fine, looks good and I only change the battery every several years.  No big whoop.  I don't have to put it in a safe, it it gets stolen, it's not as big of a loss...  LOL.

That's entry level, one of these is over a hundred thousand, a handful a year custom built, it's also one of the commonest fakes

it's a piece of jewelry.   I'm not a collector of watches.  It's nice, but there is a LOT of other things I prefer to spend money on.  To each his/her own.

Swiss? How about http://www.longines.com/watches/the-longines-master-collection ?? Swiss made and automatic wind for less than half the price. My father had one that he paid $350 for in 1968(P.S. That was a LOT 45 years ago), and just recently broke... after YEARS of abuse(he was a carpenter and wore it EVERY SINGLE DAY to work).

To each his own I guess.
