I would so love a bigger screen iPad! The current one is a bit too small for reading music. Comics would be better, too. I think the ppi would need to increase.

I’m sorry, but if these are the same to you, you’ll have to rethink that brain damage bit.
1. Who says your hand is already on the screen?
It’s a touchscreen device, after all.
2. A vertical move with four fingers extering pressure is not a comfortable gesture.
So you’ve never moved a piece of paper out of the way?
The point is that double pressing the home button may well be more familiar (since it's the only gesture on the iPhone), and it's no an uncomfortable gesture (it may be a quicker/more convenient one for some people).
Sure, I can get behind that.
So your implication that it's the proper way to do it is bogus.
The gestures are a far quicker way to get around.
And as I said, paying half-attention. If an ad break comes up on the TV station I'm watching on my iPad it's not going to rot my brain to open up an email side-panel and take care of some replies while the commercials roll past.
That’s what the articles say.

Thanks for the different argument than before.
It's pointless when you don't read. It's pretty pointless when you do as well, but heyho.
