I would much rather purchase a phone in the Apple retail store as opposed to the phone carrier's stores. The phone carrier people are obnoxious, try to force you to buy accessories that add $$$ to the cost of the phone, try to force you to buy the phone they think you need and don't give a rat's tushie about what you want in the first place.'

Go to the Apple store and it's very simple. Pick your phone and carrier and you're done. No pressure to buy cases. No pressure period.

And considering how many phones Apple is selling plus the enormous profits, I'm not concerned about Android.

Well if everyone blocked him, there'd be no replies.

    I can't take the chance.

25% of iPhone sales = 11% of all cell phone sales in the US

    Therefore:

100% of iPhone sales = 44% of all cell phone sales in the US

Either the iPhone 5s/c has been a massive, massive breakout hit during the period that these numbers measure or something is not quite right with these numbers. I have a feeling it's a mix of the two. I think the numbers may be exaggerating a huge hit into a HUGE hit.

One this is very clear though, the iPhone 5s/c is selling like hotcakes across all channels in the US market leaving all the competition in it's wake. And it's doing the same in most of the international markets where it's currently sold and Apple isn't done with it's international role out yet.

If you were this successful at what you did, exactly how much notice would you take of all the people who've never done anything saying you must do this or that?

What are the advantages / disadvantages of a device being sold in the Apple store (both for consumers and for Apple)?

Apple has no answer for this and its rather frustrating. Google is just a far smarter company than Apple and knows how to spray the oil so Apple can't get any traction while Apple is too stubborn to retaliate. 2013 has become the year of the Apple value nightmare. Google and Eric Schmidt are laughing all the way to the bank over the way they tripped up Apple.

What a silly post. You rear your head now and then to make some biting, accusatory, doom-laden post, talking about how one company or another is "tripping up" Apple. It turns out it's mostly Fantasyland... Spin... Supposition...  Foolishness... Why do you do this to yourself?

As I read this, AAPL is up 11 points to $535 (up from the "low" of $350-ish less than a year ago). Again the world's most valuable company. So much for "investor angst".

Apple sells 1/4 of ALL mobile phones in the U.S. and yet, operates at a large (35% ~ 38%) NET margin on profit. So much for "pointless profit".

Apple is likely to report yet another record breaking quarter (as they've done every quarter, for years now, by the way). This time, we expect China Mobile to be joining the fray. Get ready to add another 50 ~ 75 Million iPhone sales to the mix next year.

You are so off base it's laughable. You leave these posts which only make you look funny, in a sad way. Again I ask, why do you do this to yourself?

Apple discounts iPhones (3% ish) when shipped to official third parties for sale. So Apple keeps that discount.
I believe iPhones sold at Apple are unlocked--you can bring it to another carrier after your contract expired.
Apple can help you set the iPhone up at the store.
Apple isn't gonna sell you other junk.
Apple doesn't have pushy sales people.

True, but the more people block him, the less attention he gets. He's the one person I block. Trolls can make for amusing reading, but not him; he just says the same thing over and over again, which quickly gets boring.

Probably because Androids are worthless after a year or two.
