You could hide them before today you know.

But they're still all there on the system just hidden. Why not completely remove unwanted ones?

They're still in there in your mind. Get a real problem, Jesus. We can't even hide system apps on the iPhone.

Great.  Now how do I remove movies from my Wishlist after I've bought them?

    Anybody?

In a perfect world it would be automatic, but wouldn’t you just go back to the store page for it and undo what you did to add them?

I guess so.  Will try that.  Would be easier to delete from the Wishlist itself, but that would require adding a button or something.

Or click-holding with the remote.  But then the semantics of click-holding would be different: "remove permanently" vs. "not show."

It all adds up to more clutter and confusion.

Will be interesting to see if Apple can simplify the Apple TV UI even more.  (Hint to Apple UI designers: Siri.)

After updating, users can hide icons by holding the select button, causing icons on the screen to jiggle. Once activated, users can press the play/pause button on their remote to bring up a menu that allows users to hide the icon.

It is amazing how intuitive Apple's software always is.

“Siri, show me everything I have with Liam Neeson.”

EDIT: just to be clear, those three are NOT part of the same search, whittling down a library. <img class=" src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />

Yeah but does your iPhone show every app there is in the app store? Netflix isn't a system app, the number of apps (channels) is going to grow to a point that if not made removable they'll bog down the system.

LOL.  Just watched my DVD of "The Bounty" last night.  Topless Tahitian women plus Liam Neeson but no warehouse.

They still haven't fixed the ABC and Disney channels not loading problem that I and a LOT of other Apple TV users have.

    Easier to hide, sure.

Very glad to see this article. I never could figure out how to hide this stuff before but now I'll do a lot of removing. My cable company is a smaller company that isn't an option for almost all of these channels so I'll be happy to get my screen looking more like my old original version one Apple TV.

Right, but now its more Apple-esque. Before it was more clumsy.

going into parental controls and clicking on the channels you wanted to hide was clumsy?  It was easy for everyone else.

Mirroring an iDevives or mac into a TV with airplay is something that works great for airplay indeed.  But it does required you to have an expensive external device.  If it can be build in into the Apple TV, why not do it.

Think he means a WiFi device. But since these are $50 or more, I wouldn't consider them to be expensive.

Okay. Who has an Apple TV but not a router? <img class=" src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />

Are there really that many houses that jumped on the “wire a home with Cat5” bandwagon?
