Dawg, please calm down. So you think blinking lights are stupid. Don't read the thread. It was obvious by the subject that it was about blinking lights. Save yourself some agony and stay out of the thing. There's definitely no need to go ballistic. Even if you're right, and blinking lights are stupid in some objective absolute sense, that doesn't mean that anybody who likes them or wants them is necessarily trash. I promise.
The correct word is "blinkenlichten," not because it's German, but because of this sign, which entered 'net lore long ago:
[quote]ACHTUNG! ALLES LOOKENSPEEPERS!

And people keep asking me why I haven't learned to speak German yet. It's 'cause the language looks simple, but is freakin' weird.
I'll review this with my German teacher in my next class. I'm sure she can translate it for me.
For the record, Powerbook is right. It's Blinklichter in the plural and Blinklicht in the singular. For example: ein Blinklicht. But: drei Blinklichter.

ROTFLMAO!
Oh my.. that was funny. I guess if you speak any german it wouldn't be funny at all, but... HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Or Apple could just go all-out with a little LCD display right on it. Who needs das blinkenlichten when you have you're own miniature display?
But anyway, yeah, they would be cool and even though you can easily use CPU Monitor, you have it right there hardwarebased--I know how to use my computer plenty (I just might be doing that right now ) Plus, you could maybe use it as a hack and make it an audio equalizer. Or just to make it flash random lights in a new interesting way to tweak out my cat.
And that would only be used to tweak out my cat. Not yours, if you were wondering. Apple makes things for one sole purpose, my cat.
I am a German citizen and you are wrong: it does sound funny for me, but these sentences don't make any sense at all.
In my opinion it is a "glibberish" mixture of mostly German added with a little bit Dutch & Jewish and reminds me of the so-called "German" sentences used in certain DC/Marvel comics and on tv shows like "Hogan's Heroes" or well-known Hollywood productions.
And: yes again - it is kind of funny for me to listen to that kind of broken German, but I do not think that any teacher on this planet can translate this stupid stuff correctly - despite if she/he has a lot of humour & fantasy...

OK, open your curtains on 12/25 and look out the Window, and we can ask "and your point is?...."
Even better (and we could have 1 needle for each processor)

Anybody tried out Encheferiser 0.1? Swedish is much more fun than German.
