Ad Campaign for new form iMac
Long time reader, first time poster.
What're all of your ideas for the ad campaign for the new iMac.. There is bound to be one.. so hook up some thoughts...
My guess is it'll be something cheesy like the old cube ads, ie, "Revolution" by the Beatles playing and ending with "It's a revolution. Squared"
May god help us all....
So give up some REAL ideas... <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />

<strong>"The Second Coming" or "The New Revolution" or "Revolution 2"</strong><hr></blockquote>
EVOLUTION. If they do that, I'll fall asleep for a thousand years (until there is a G6).
<strong>I like Sony's ad for their desktop where it says how you can watch TV, burn music, etc. I think they'd need to show what the new Mac can do.</strong><hr></blockquote>
While I totaly agree, I don't think that will ever happen because Apple takes the "we are cool, buy us" approach. I have said for soooo long they need to have commercials showing EVERYTHING that you can do on a Mac. The avg Joe thinks Macs are only for graphics. The iMac is for the avg Joe, so Apple needs to do more avg Joe type commercials, it can still be cool, just show what the fricking Mac can do!
But will it be called an iMac any longer?
ad shows new imac as slightly bulky apple display with handle on desk...camera pulls back slowly as imac owner ejects dvd from slot that he has just burned, he powers down imac, then grabs it by the handle and walks out the front door (make it the same guy and apartment as the ipod commercial)....
=/
Most likely they'll do what they've done before and tie the new flat panel feature in with some clever phrase . . .
imac, the center of your digital world
... or digital hub <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />
"iMac, maybe the world is flat. Think Different."
"Asta la vista CRT" - oh god! who was the marketing genius who came up with that one! ick
14-year-old girl watching out the living room window
Checks clock...just then:
FedEx pulls up, and runs for door
Her and her daddy sign for the iMac
Jump cut to her bedroom room
Show her and her daddy setting it up
(clock on wall shows 4 minutes later
Do the "registration" process
Get online inside of 7 minutes
Pan right and back
Shows old beige PC on floor with keyboard and mouse hanging out of trash can.
Share the joy. iMac.

I like that one a lot.
maybe this is better:
Just because the world is round, doesn't mean your computer has to be.
(glamour shots)
(hello (again)) shot
fade to black
Say hello to iMac. Again.
