I'm still using the default Mac OS X background with my HD on the desktop. I'll get around to it..... eventually.

Hehe. I'm using a combination of Pomegranite and Godiva themes, a desktop I've had for a long time, some icons I got from <a href="http://icons.cx/"; target="_blank">http://icons.cx/</a>; and <a href="http://xicons.com/"; target="_blank">http://xicons.com/</a>; and Tinkertool to modify some other stuffs.

That's because Rick is working at OmniGroup now, making all those nifty new OmniWeb icons and such.

Some of us don't want a "pretty" desktop. I find my theme looks much more appealing and easier on the eyes than Aqua. My eyes are drawn to the content and what I am working on instead of pretty gel buttons and eye straining stripes.

    But that is just IMHO

No offence, but I like Aqua a lot more than most of the available themes. I've installed other themes, but always reverted back to Aqua in no less than an hour each time. Aqua still seems so fresh and appealing (to me) after so long. Well that's just me.

Well good. Aqua is very well done as far as being visually stimulating. But it's nice to have a choice.

Agreed. I don't like looking at bright white stripes all day long, and all of that unnecessary transparency bugs me, it's slow on my not-exactly-supercomputer. And the stripes are just tired, already. I dunno, it is just refreshing to change. Aqua does get old when you use it for long enough--some people are just brainwashing themselves that it is "timeless" and all that jazz.

Unlike Platinum Aqua isn't timeless. It's a fad. Aqua will lose it's neatness within a few years and it will get tiring a stale. I am betting within a few years Apple changes Aqua.

Apple needs to develop a better looking GUI.

I'm not sure I like how the Office X icons look with the rest of my stuff. Oh well.
