My family has always had PC's, I grew up with a 1985 IBM that my mom used for her law files. My older brother got into computers somehow and really liked the mac that my dad had for his job. My brother always carried around a mac magazine of some sort and always wanted a Powerbook. In 1994 or 1995 we got a Perfroma for $3,500. Once we got that it was all over for the PC side. I will never go back to windows, thats why I hate my school for using PC's in cmputer graphics classes. After the performa had its run we got the an iMac DV 450 and a G4 Cube 450 (best christmas ever) and I have just been hooked with all things Apple since the old Performa.

Started with Wintels from 1997 and when I called for a graphic/web design job they asked me if I had experience with Apple computers (had none whatsoever) and I said; "Sure do!"

Before the phone hit the reciever I was in Borders getting the "Macs for Dummies" book. I brought it home and read it. Thought, "Jeez, these are easy!" and when I got the job I was zipping away. I'd also would thank the Mac technical, IT person there, Scott. One of the only nice, helpful IT fellows I have ever met.

Within a year I had an iMac next to my Gateway and by the time I moved to the city I had gotten rid of the Gateway (and Windows) for good. Now have a new iMac G3 700 SE. Every other job since has been on Wintels though... <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

i looked around a longtime trying to find a job where i could work on Macs,a nd i may have found one, although it will take a me a little bit to get there. the software company i'll be working for has both mac and PC versions of their software. i'll be starting out as tech support, and can move after a year. i was just happy to get a job in this economy.

in anycase, i always wanted a mac of my own, but could never really afford one. my problem was that i could always afford little upgrages to my PC here and there along the line, but i'd have to spend the big bucks right up front for a mac. not cool.

but i got one for christmas and now all is well, and i'm typing away on it. i hadn't realized how much i liked working on macs until i didn't have one for a few months. you seriously start going through withdrawel after a while.
