Cheesers.
Either they're purposely parodying a Mac rumors site and are meant to be Meader-esque take-offs in their self-important "inside info" giving, OR they are truly a bunch of sad cases and quite a little collection of dicks.

"are" is the proper plural in Britain, and possibly in Canada as well.
As in, "Apple are a manufacturer of computers."
This use extends to other verbs as well:
"Apple have released an update to their Power Macintosh line."

No rhyme or reason. Looks amateurish.

Very good! Are you sure you are not writing these things for Apple?
Here's mine:
"It's dead Jim." (referring to the G3)
"Of all the computers I have encountered in my travels...this one will be the most...human."
(speech recognition)
"Explore strange new worlds."(wireless broadband, PDA or iTablet).
<strong>"Set your faces to 'stunned'."
</strong><hr></blockquote>
Actually its a quote from Fraiser. The little ST nerd who is obsessed with Roz say that line in an episode in one of the first seasons.
Ohhh just see it now: Faces, not phasers. Much better

Its 5 year mission will come to an end <---G3
It comes from fluidic space (a cryptic message about IEEE 8472, BitchinWire!)
Damn, I don't watch Star Trek anymore but I remember this crap.

'it's a computer (/pc?) jim, but not as we know it'
Bit lame I know, but it continues the trekkie theme.
