[Microsoft Surface:] an overwhelming urge to spin on a conference table or dance like a nazis school girl.

Great. Now I have to choose which quote I put in my signature.

Maybe it's just me but how do you "test" software that only allows you to read a document ....but not do any of the things that the software supposedly does???

I guess that would be loading documents to be read to see if you like that aspect of the app. Note that you can easily signup for a month trial of Office 365.

So "it's a strong start" if 12 million people download an app to see if it will actually open ? ...hmmmm.....ok, but I think a better way to determine a strong start would/will be if 12 million people actually "pay for a subscription" ....we'll see, I guess.

You're saying it would be better if MS was making more money rather than less money from their product. Who the hell do you think would disagree with that?

The cheapest way to purchase this is neither through Apple nor through Microsoft. It's actually through the likes of Amazon etc. So, smart iPad users who want to purchase this, won't be doing so via the Apple store if they can save themselves 30%.
