[quote] Thus, KidRed, I'll write you an email so that we can try to "deal".... like: you tell me how you did those effects and you'll get something from me...ok?

    Thanks

Ah, you need to know how to do the hi-lite?

Select the apple's pixels, then contract (depending on it's size) Then, with the free transform tool, try to mimic that curve. Then go to path/make selction/and choose subtract from selection.

Then create a new layer and fill it will white (from the selection). I think I made this layer "screen" in the blending options, and lowered it's opacity and also, apply a slight guassian blurr to it, 2-3. Now select this new layer's pixels and contract it a few pixels. Now with the gradient tool choose white to transparent and do a blend from the top left to the bottm right of the slection to hi lite just the upper left of the apple. Then apply the same guassian blurr until it blends into the bigger hi lite.

I'm just waking up, so if something is confusing just ask.

    Ok:

I don't understand what you mean with "Then, with the free transform tool, try to mimic that curve".

I'm not able to mimic the curve with Free Transform, since that tool allow me only to shrink/move/rotate the apple shape; could you please explain more in detail?

    anyway, thanks !

hehehe, now I am awake. The 'freeform pen' it's the freehand pen tool. After you selected the apple's pixels, contracted by a small amount, use the pen tool to cut a curved shape into the apple's selection. Once you have the intersecting line that mimics mine (or natural curve of the apple's embossed shape) then go to path/make selection and then choose subtract selection.

That will subtract the selection you just made with the free form pen cutting the apple shape into the shape of the hilite. It's easier this way rather then trying to create the hilte area any other way.

Let me know if you are still confused.
