That didn't work very well.

Part of Nokia's early success in the late 90s was due to its range of colorful Xpress-on shells. Nokia has a long history of using and promoting bold colors. Perhaps Nokia's advertising never reached your shores in those pre-YouTube days?

...Are you saying you need to use gloves to use a Lumia?

    Because...well that's just not true

    At all

Are you sure ? Have you tried personally ?

Could they pick a creepier guy to go around creepily staring at people while wearing bright yellow earphones?

I think this commercial does more harm than good.

My DNS has been highjacked.l and so is yours probably. Look in your TCP/IP sleeting ans see what IP addresses are showing. The. Do a "Whois" on them to make they're your ISP. If not, you need to update your router firmware. Do you have Linksys E1200 by chance?

No, but thanks for making me aware of this type of issue.
I checked my DNS and it is the default settings for my ISP.
Do you think it is the cause of your issues with AppleInsider? Is it maybe inserting Javascript or something onto the page?

    Umm, yes I have

I've played around with several Lumia phones (520, 925, 521) and all of them worked just fine without gloves.

I think whoever wrote that comment misunderstood the fact that Lumia phones CAN be used with gloves because of their sensitive screen option, but gloves are necessary for the use of the device. That would just be ridiculous.

It's like Courtney Love singing a cover of Ella Fitzgerald (a big ol' mess).

Does Apple have a trademark on simplicity? Last I checked, Windows Phone was the one with the simple, square UI, and has been since WP7 in 2010, years before Apples own simple, non-skeuomorphic iOS7 was released.

And I'm pretty sure the website ripoff is the other way around

I quite like the ad, reminds me of Pleasantville, the weird ad is pretty cool too.

P.S. the iPhone 5 wasn't sold in a Space Grey version, it was Black and Slate IIRC.

To all intents and purposes, Apple did invent colour for technology, so you're wrong on that count.

The ad was terrible, so if you 'quite liked it', you clearly have no taste, which doesn't surprise me from a troll.

The screen-wide news rectangle, the smaller ones containing other products at the bottom, and even using sharp-cornered shapes as opposed to their previous use of round-cornered ones on Apple's website all look very similar to Microsoft's homepage

Yes, I get your implication, I just don’t see it.

I just noticed this, I wonder if Apple is reading this thread and trying to get the jump on the color conscious competition... <img class=" src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />

Jony is always hanging around here. Where else do you think he gets his ideas? I remember being in this forum when someone suggested Apple should use a font only one pixel thick on iOS so it wouldn't take so long to re-draw a page. The next thing we knew, BAM, we had iOS 7. And then just the other day someone suggested that Apple ought to sorta make the words fade into the back ground more so they don't look so flat and unambiguous. So, just you keep an eye out. I feel iOS 8 coming out of that suggestion.

    Wave and say, "Hi Jony!"
