Jobs using a Dell @ Pixar?
According to the San Fran Gate's gossip columnist Beth Lisick, there is an unconfirmed report that Jobs has a Dell on his desk at Pixar. Most likely this is just bait intended to throw mac users into a tizzy, but it is definitely curious if true.

"Here's some classic gossip I haven't confirmed: Word from an insider working on a documentary about Emeryville animation studio Pixar is that sitting on the desk of CEO Steve Jobs is not one of those snazzy new iMacs. No, not at all. Apparently, the co-founder of Apple is outfitted with a Dell PC. Someone please e-mail immediately to confirm or deny."

I bet its a NeXT machine. They were black like the current Dells are.
Hell, even a custom box would be better...and cheaper.
It is a dell, but it is only used as a storage drive for incoming work samples.

You seem to know something. True?
I seriously doubt that Jobs uses a Dell for anything other than having the satisfaction of knowing what his competitions PC looks like.
Practice what you preach, Steve

Why not?
If this lady is going to publish every little made up thing she hears let's have some fun with it!
It's just gossip afterall.
Here's another good one for you, Mr. Ford has a Chevy in his garage. No. Really? Yes it's true.
(No, not really, just joking.)
(It is true though.)
(No, it's not true.)
(Yes, it is)
(no, it's not)
(yes, it is)
(no)
(yes)
(no, it's not)
(yes, it is)
See how much weight that statement holds?
but as one other poster said WHO****INGCARES.
I would imagine the render farms are all x86, so having a Dell around might make things simpler.

Yeah, and Steve does a whole lot of rendering i'm sure.
Hmm.... Is it possible to run openstep on VPC?

I think that in older versions of Virtual PC you could, but who knows. I just checked the Connectix site and it does not mention anywhere that you can run Openstep.
