I know Apple Maps is a little finicky about addresses that are entered for search, but if I enter the full address for The Forum Mall I get the 'No Results Found' message.
That happened to me recently, too. I wonder why? I didn't spend any time trying to resolve it -- I just entered the address in GM instead and there it was -- but now I'm curious. It's hard to imagine that the addresses we're seeking are actually missing from the data.
When using the Maps app on iOS, if I try to look for a place, say 'The Forum Mall', Google Maps correctly identifies it as a place in Bangalore, India, whereas Apple Maps finds a place in Singapore.
Huh… I’ve only had success. Did you frame the map correctly? These mapping programs assign priority to what you’re after based on what you’re currently able to see in the frame.
For example, if you’re framed over the United States and search for “Clement Town”, it will take you to Clement Town Road in Virginia. But if you’re framed over India and do the same, it will take you to the proper Clement Town in Uttarakhand.
Dude, while humorous at times, your short, one word answers just piss people off. It does no one any good when you dispute a statement that is not backed up with any truth or citation....with an answer that also has no proof or citations. In fact, you're just as bad, IMO, even though you are defending the same company and are here for the same reason as I'm a member of AI; because we love all things Apple.
Hate to cross you TS, but you are right only as far as the US, and probably a few other countries are concerned.
In India, iOS Maps does not even return search results. That makes it pretty much useless for navigation and the only thing I can use it for is to virtually fly over Battersea Power Station in London or something.
To get from one place to another and to find places, Google Maps is the only real choice we have. I tried Nokia's Here Maps but they weren't as good.
I'm inflating but deflating luckily! I've never been accused of being a pig... but then, you can call me Algie. On a lucky day, I can fly all the way to Kent!

I wasn't being serious, but making a reference to Pink Floyd. They used an inflatable pig for an album cover. It was tethered over Battersea Power Station but broke free, so turning the proverbial flying pig into reality. Your mention of virtually flying over Battersea Power Station made me think of that pig, which was also 'virtually flying.'

The pig was nicknamed 'Algie' and finally settled on a farmer's land in Kent, which is what my reference was to.
You can say I am a little obsessed with Pink Floyd!

A serious fan! I haven't heard Animals. My favourites are The Wall, The Final Cut and Wish You Were Here. Et tu?

It's just contradiction and solves nothing.
It's not contradiction, and it solves everything.
Nokia's Here Map is quite good in many ways.
Public transport, walk, speed limits, whole countries usable offline with full functionality.
On the downside, satellite views are not as HQ as Google Maps - at least not everywhere - and street view is much more limited.
Nope.

I was contemplating on answering this, given that it is so OT. However, also given that this thread is dead, I decided to risk another post!
Animals is my favourite, followed by Wish You Were Here and The Wall. The Final Cut has a real special place for me as well!
Sounds as though I should check out Animals!
