Give me Passbook plus Bitcoin blockchain integration and we're good.

I guess you want Weed Killer back in the App Store.

I guess at McDonald's you get to swipe it yourself (if you're inside) but at decent restaurants that simply doesn't happen. They usually bring you a leather bound check holder that has a place for your card. They take it in back and bring it back a couple minutes later with a receipt and pen. You can't tell me that's not standard practice!

Just saw that you said basically the same thing. This is exactly how it happens for me several times a week.

Not in England. Here, they bring the card reader to you at the table. The card is never out of your sight.

So it's all sent wirelessly? And you still trust that the card reader isn't coaching data that the server isn't grabbing later.

I don't trust anything, but it is different to your card being taken away for a couple of minutes to another room where anything could happen to it, not least being your card details being swiftly copied. That's a little harder when it stays within a few feet of you, especially as a would-be thief would need to see both sides of the card.
