I think that the <a href="http://www.crazyapplerumors.com/2002_05_26_archive.htm"; target="_blank">nForcer</a> is more likely.

Apple Formulating New Education Strategy For K-6 Market.

According to sources in Apple's Educational Sales organization, the company is preparing a new strategy aimed at securing market share in the K through 6 market. Entitled "Dell Smells", Apple will be taking its case directly to students.

Jeff Zeller, an Apple Educational Account Representative in the Chicago area, says Apple's new strategy will take a grass-roots approach to getting its message out.

"After some study," Zeller said, "We concluded that kids get their information from two sources: the bathroom wall and the playground."

Apple's bathroom wall target marketing will include messages indicating "Jobs Rulez", "Microsucks" and the signature message "Dell Smells". To cover the playground front, Apple plans to hire school bullies to push around children seen using or promoting competing products from Microsoft and Dell or other PC manufacturers.

While still in its infancy, results from test marketing the new strategy have so far proved inconclusive.

This excerpt from an interview with a student at Andrei Codrescu Primary School, a test market school in Carefree, Ariz., indicates Apple may have its work cut out for it in reaching the typical K through 6 student.

"How did you feel when you got pushed off the swings for speaking highly of Windows XP?"

    "I dunno."

    "Do you think Dell smells?

    "I dunno."

"Is it true that 'Jobs Rulez'?"

    "I dunno."

While educators have expressed concern about Apple's use of physical intimidation on children, the company is showing an increasing willingness to use force to gain market share.

A new enterprise market strategy, also reported to be currently in development at Apple, is tentatively called "This Is A Nice Business. It'd Be A Shame If Something Were To Happen To It."
