Hmm...I wonder why? Apple has only given us crap after crap after crap at each of its expos. Why expect more when Apple has already established this "great" track record?
Last time around, the rumors escalated to "Satelite-Based Internet Connectivity" and some REALLY far-fetched ideas that made a G5 look like a pimple... and what did they deliver?

What?? You mean there was no basis for that rumor!?
As I said, it's MacWorld. Which means updated Power Macs and iMacs.
Apple has an DDR motherboard with the Xserve, so I expect a desktop varient of that.
The GeForce 4 MX has replaced the GeForce 2 MX, so I expect the iMacs to use that, and change to a 133Mhz bus (if Power Macs go DDR).
Nothing else. In fact, I don't think it's worth it this year for me to stay up until 1:00 in the morning to watch the Keynote (living in Australia. OMG, I spelled Keynote with a capital... noo... must... resist... RDF!!!).

Apple doesn't give us "crap". iMac LCD? iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, iTunes? Powerbook G4? DVD Burners?
Even MacWorld New York 2001 was nothing much new, but would you have rather have watched Micheal Dell?

I think you've been reading the AI Forums too long. Apple is not shipping "crap". If you think that, why are you here at all? Yes the PowerMac has fallen behind over the last 3 years, but its not that far behind and there were a lot of MacWorlds before that. Apple's other products are holding up just fine as well.
Oh sure, it looks pretty. Too bad that's about it.
The new imac is ugly as hell, I'd rather have a dalmation or flower power imac than it. Same goes for the emac. Apple's portables are great looking and great performing systems, I don't know what they've done with the desktop lines.
And a couple pieces of software and a pathetic hardware update cannot be considered great either. It's been a long time since Apple actually gave me an expo where I didn't say "meh".
Seriously, if you don't want to waste your valuable hours speculating on what might come out at MWNY, then go somewhere else in the forum. This part of the forum is for wild speculation. It is like moving to Seattle to complain about the rain.
Seriously, Cowofwar, you seem pretty bitterly anti-Mac to me. So the LCD iMac isn't to your taste -- that makes it "crap," despite the fact that most observers, even resolute PC-heads, think it's fantastic?

As much as I profess grounded reality... in the back of MY mind... I'm DYING to see a killer Super-Powerful PowerMac with (place technology advance here) that makes it outperform all other computers & chipsets out there... no-hold-barred!

I'm back!!! And that's exactly what we would all have happen in our perfect world, but after 3 years of seriously dissapointing MacWorld's, and assorted speedbumps, downgrades, and some serious hopes for that old fashon Apple hardware innovation (not to be confused with exterior computer design innovations) Apple realy has a chance to bring the Mac back with some powerfull tech at a time when it is getting recognised as having probably the best operating system in existance. But there will not be a G5 in any form. Definately not at 2.5 GHz. (where I think is where it should be at this coming MacWorld, or Seybold, but it wont) To get back on track here. After 3 years of dissapointments in this area I don't expect to see a G5 until maybe MacWorld San Fran, but it won't come near 2.5GHz. No way.

It's because of all the dissapointments that the realists are posting in this thread. We've been let down, and dragged through the mudd for a few years for being Mac Users, and Mac enthusiasts. Now that we have the most stelar OS on the planet getting the best of both possible worlds (supreme hardware, and Mac OS 10.2) seems impossable.

Who was that geared towards...?
If it was geared toward my initial post... let me re-clarify... I LOVE the speculation and rumors... I just merely stated that NONE of all that should be misconstrued as expectations of Apple product releases for the fear of mass-disapointment in the keynote. NONE of what we speculate is guaranteed by ANY means... and the release of the flat-panel iMac was percieved by a LOT of people as a let-down, due to the insanely, far-fetched rumors and speculation that went on within these types of forums.

Lets try to be a little objective here folks.

If it was NOT intended for me...
"Nevermind!"
