I am considering buying an IMAC. I have always been a PC user and not a very experienced one at that! I also have a Kodak EasyShare digital camera and camera dock. Will I be able to transfer my photos to IMAC and hook up my camera dock to transfer pics to IMAC in the future? Will my EasyShare Software work there also or will I have to purchase a different software for this?

You wont need any drivers to import pictures from your camera to your Mac, it just works®. You turn on your camera, plug it into your Mac via cable (usually USB), iPhoto will launch automatically and ask you do you want to name this roll? Whereby it will provide a box for the name and description you want to give, there's also a checkbox if you want iPhoto to automatically delete those photos from your camera after importing. I suggest you do name the roll, as it will be handy later when you type such a search query in the iPhoto search box. If the photos on your camera are from your holiday in Ireland for example, and you name that roll "holiday in Ireland", then when you type holiday in Ireland or start to type it, iPhoto will show you those photos only in a snap. What does that Kodak easy software do? If it's for basic photo editing, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say iPhoto will kick its ass on power and ease of use.
Kodak EasyShare downloads the pics from the camera and you can do some editing. However, the editing power is not very good. I usually do it with Photo Editor from Microsoft after I get them in the computer. I believe you are absolutely correct in saying that iPhoto will kick ass over KES.
This all started because a friend on the West Coast just got one of the IMACs as a birthday present. I have a gazillion questions at this point and she is not able to answer them all. I have an older PC - a DELL. It has worked well, but from what I hear and read these new IMACs will not be difficult to learn and are so very much better.
