O-kay, noted. A couple of points. That was Samsung, this is Apple. For example, more of a Samsung plastic device is a bad thing; more of an Apple aluminum or Liquid Metal device will be a good thing. A larger Samsung home screen is worse, not so Apple. And so on.

Second, there may be a use case for an attractive, iOS-powered 5.5" device that no one is thinking about right now, such as a split-screen side-by-side stereoscopic video player used for educational purposes, just to imagine something. Or 5.5" might be perceived as the ideal portable movie-watching size by the Apple public, who have far different intuitions about platforms from Samsung or Android users.

We've seen a few instances where a platform isn't well exploited until Apple does their version. Best to be cautious about second-guessing them.

I'm not sure an iPhone 5.5" would be in the same category as a Samsung Note. I look at it as only marginally larger than a Samsung S5. I borrowed an S5 from a co-worker for a quick test to see how it fit in Levis 501 front pocket, and it fit fine even sitting. Of course even an iPhone 5 is difficult to get out of the pocket while seated. Currently I'm in Panama, which as I mentioned in another thread, has about 8% economic growth right now, and everyone has lots of stylish fashion and jewelry and they are all carrying an S5, and by everyone, I mean everyone with a smart phone. I do see some iPhones but pretty much only with tourists. Samsung has pretty much taken over the country. It is like the exact inverse of the US.

That is perhaps the stupidest post all day. For your information, obesity is almost non-existent in Panama, unlike the US which has about a 66% obesity rate.

    Big booty = fat ass

Perhaps I misunderstand American slang. Is that not correct?

Die shrinkage? Shaving off a few nanometers is insane! I think we should be very concerned about Apple's obsession with portability and power efficiency. They should be putting in more kitchen sink features and making the iPhone bigger, less portable, and more power hungry like the competition. /s

The 20nm die shrink with 14nm FinFET drops power consumption by > 60%, coming from 28nm, while increasing speed by > 40%.

    700

The 20nm LPM adoption by GlobalFoundries allows for both GloFo and Samsung to transition to 14nm FinFET jointly.

Come off it. There are plenty of Latinas that have big butts and are nowhere near fat let alone obese. Just look at Jennifer Lopez, Selena, and all the Spanish station weather girls. I wasn't being condescending, I was being facetious.

I’ll take the bet under the stipulation that you just not say anything you can’t confirm–about ANYTHING–until the release of the next iPhone, and not in any way under any condition you have set.

    There. Problem solved.

My bad. I thought big booty was a medical term for over weight  /s

Well, while you may be able to find some coins in those couch cushions, I still don't see any pockets.

So are we on or what?

If Apple releases a phone larger than 5 inches this year you don't post in this forum for 1 month.
    If they don't I won't post for 1 month.

    Are you in?

If not, then you probably don't like your odds.

Now just a minute here. What are we supposed to do for entertainment for a month if one of you disappears?

Of course not; it’s womens’ wear. They refuse to put pockets on their clothing and then whine about how heavy and large their purses are.

Yeah, you… apparently can’t read, which is probably why you’ve bought into a rumor without question. You’d be a great cult member. Try scientology; I hear they’re looking to purge some more thetans.

    The Note 2 had a 5.5" screen:

That has a 16:9 aspect so pretty much the exact size of a 5.5" iPhone display but the iPhone top and bottom bezels would be larger. It is a massive device:

    1000

    1000

It works better for handbags than pockets.

Not quite. Fat ass is derogatory, big booty can be beautiful e.g girl in the grey dress here:

It does have the effect that larger proportioned women automatically think that means they qualify, check the comments below the pic:

    http://lolwtfcomics.blogspot.com/2011/12/fat-woman-facebook-fresh-out-shower-you.html

It's actually quite popular just now and celebs are even jokingly photoshopping themselves to improve the proportions (NSFW):

They actually look like they're using iPhones though. I can't tell, it's hard to concentrate on the phone.

If they make a 5.5" iPod touch I'll buy one on the first day.
