Popular iOS photography app Camera+ was updated on Monday with a handful of improvements, with bigger things promised to come with iOS 8 this fall. In addition, the creator of the "Flappy Bird" sensation has revealed his latest title, set to arrive on iPhone this week.

Camera+ improves Vignette, Soft Focus & more

Camera+ for iPhone as well as iPad was updated on Monday to version 5.2, which the team behind the app said will help tide users over until major updates arrive to take full advantage of iOS 8. The interim update adds a new adjustment to the Vignette effect in the Lab, and also adds improvements to the Soft Focus and Film Grain Effects.

The update also addresses an issue with Flickr sharing, and squashes bugs associated with the Clarity Pro function.

The developer teased that "some cool, new things" are coming in the near future. For now, Camera+ version 5.1 is available for $1.99 on iPhone, and $4.99 on iPad.

Dong Nguyen's next game: Swing Copters

The creator of mega-hit Flappy Bird is back at it with a new game dubbed Swing Copters, set to launch on the iOS App Store on Thursday as a price of 99 cents. Touch Arcade was given a first look at the new title, and the accompanying video shows that the gameplay is a simple tap-based function similar to Flappy Bird.

Also like its predecessor, Swing Copters also features a retro graphical style akin to Nintendo Entertainment System games from the '80s.

Flappy Bird became a global phenomenon earlier this year, before the developer abruptly pulled the game from the App Store, citing the attention it brought him. That resulted in a wave of Flappy Bird copycats that flooded the App Store and found their own considerable success.

Love the video of Swing Copters.

It's amazing how far graphics have come since 1984.

Oh look, a new App by a developer that "couldn't" stand all the attention he was receiving. Spend my money on an App that could go the same way as Flappy Bird? No thanks. After that stunt, I really don't trust the guy anymore. Couldn't even manage to give a proper explanation, just run with the money. Pfft.

Making games is his passion, why should he give it up entirely?

Both Flappy Bird and this game are free and ad-supported. Flappy Bird currently exists on the Amazon FireTV:

There's an online HTML5 version here if you really want to play Flappy Bird:

    1. If you paid for Flappy Bird you did something wrong, it was free

    2. If you downloaded Flappy Bird then the guy withdrawing it wouldn't have affected you, it would stay on your device.
