Nice house isn't it, ours actually uses a lot more glass.
I think it is rather nice, but I don't like the black. Makes it too 'heavy' for my taste. I would very likely prefer your house then, with more glass. But in the end I prefer older buildings, with that more 'authentic look', preserved glory and all that. Modern architecture can be nice, but I'm very specific, nitpicking, whatever.
Are you well? I don't see the same amount of posts from you, but perhaps I'm missing many.
Nope, I wouldn't post my house in a public forum. I just used one that came the closest to ours. Square architecture is big right now in Switzerland, you can't go a block without seeing one. I just don't see patenting architecture a good idea.
So anyone can just build a skyscraper with the same design as 1 World Trade Center? Or the Empire State Building? Or the Sears Tower? Or - more apropos - Apple's Spaceship Campus? Design patents are there for a reason just like other patents. To eliminate copycat designers/engineers/artists.
That would include me, and I don't know if that's any consolation.
Tourist crowds are usually slow moving, and confined to certain areas, it's very much unlike the to and fro work crowds that are everywhere, and like stampeding herds lol.
Too true.
The day Apple invents an iPhone that administers an electric shock to all those walking within ten yards engrossed in their mobile phone will be the day that I'm happy.
Now they've got rectangles with rounded corners and squares, they only need a few more shapes, and they'll be able to patent virtually everything in the world.

Well done. I would have assumed you hadn't noticed. The '286 patent gave them exactly that if it's a flat electronic device of any type. Apple owns sole rights to a flat rectangular shape with rounded corners at least as far as the USPTO is concerned. Excellent work by our patent office too. /s http://arstechnica.com/apple/2012/11/apple-awarded-design-patent-for-actual-rounded-rectangle/

No your right, I do about 5 or so then I'm done. Just tired and the medication I'm on makes me dizzy, it's hard enough keeping food down without the extra effects staring at a tablet for long periods of time brings. I've been listening to a lot of podcasts lately instead, Smodcast, Hollywood Babylon, Doug Loves Movies, to name a few, on a comedy trip right now.

Or an Eiffel tower in the middle of Vegas. Apart from copy's in Vegas is there really much risk of someone copying an iconic building design.

And because there is a patent on the design of the Eiffel Tower the city of Vegas almost assuredly has to pay the city of Paris to use that likeness.
I used to live in an apartment building here in the Dallas area called the Delano. They got sued by the Delano hotel in Miami for using the hotel's building design and likeness. They had to redo all their interior/exterior designs and change their name to the Delante to avoid further lawsuits.

Ah, ok, hope you have many better days to come.
I took the opportunity of listening to these: Smodcast I didn't like/get, Hollywood Babylon gave me sex tips, which I also didn't get, but in a different way didn't 'get', Doug Loves Movies I thought was also not funny. Too loud, people are too much into themselves.
In general, it now appears that I don't like to listen to people talking. I lose interest and become annoyed by the monotone of the discussion, even if there are 3 or more people having a discussion. Strange huh? Maybe I'm in a bad mood(?) That could be, but I also have a very difficult sense of humor. I usually see humor in things that aren't meant to be funny, and don't see any humor in things that are supposed to be funny.

"Funny that."
Btu whatever works for you, that's a good thing.
Best to you.
Thank you, as always your kindness and good nature always puts a smile on my face and makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside, the kind of feeling when a furry couple has a pup.
I actually didn't like any of these podcasts either at first, though since my children enjoyed them I used to play them while I cooked and the they would come down to listen and even help, well if you call liking the bowl helping. The more episodes that I went through the more I started to actually enjoy them myself. It's strange that you thought Doug Loves Movies gave you the impression that the guests were too into themselves, as I think the exact opposite. I like it when things aren't scripted, forcing the guests to think on their feet. I also really enjoy listening to people speak, I have a whole collection of early radio shows. So I guess it's only logical that I am also a fan of Podcasts.
The person who really turned me onto Podcasts used to be a editor for Engadget Mobile, an absolute delightful person to talk too. I Met her in London, 2011 during Nokia World. I spent half the day with her walking around and talking to all the presenters, I even got to shake hands with Elop, though in retrospect I wish I would have spit in his face, f****** turncoat spy. Anyway, even if you're not a fan of Nokia it's still a fantastic event to attend, if not for the swag alone, which was simply mind boggling, I had to buy a small duffel bag to haul it all back to Switzerland. To give you just an idea, 14 t-shirts, 2 polo's, a windbreaker, a very beautiful lettermans jacket from Microsoft which I won in a raffle, they embroided my name on it, 2 pairs of socks with sticky bottoms which I still have and use in the hospital, 3 hoodies, a really nice umbrella with a aluminium bottom, lots up coffee mugs, tons of stickers, posters, a Zippo lighter, 4 caps and a lot, lot more, I was a big hit with the kids. Nokia had a bunch of prize vending machines that took tokens that were given to the attendees upon entry, I got three more from the Engadget staff by batting my eyes and trying to look cute, hehe, anyway the prizes were nice, a blue Swatch that simply had Nokia written across the face, which I traded with a guy next to me for his surprise, a pocket utility thingie, you know, the ones that have pliers, small screwdriver and such, it was stamped with a Nokia logo, I think it was specifically designed for taking apart a phone. Another prize was a 50 dollar gift certificate for a Nokia accessory, which you had to use at the events mini Nokia store, I put it towards another Nokia Play NFC speaker (still my favorite portable speaker today, if you don't have one I highly recommend you getting one it will blow your mind, the Beats Pill is no match and at a fraction of the cost). The best prize though was a Nokia 701, cool little phone, it ran Symbian Belle but the camera and screen was what made it stand out, it hand the same sensor as the Nokia N8 which is still one of the best cameras they've ever put into a phone. I also got another N9, a white one with 64GB, it wasn't even released yet to the general public, Nov. 11', gosh I loved that phone, still is one my favorite mobile OS's of all time.

I had those socks, too! Makes walking easier. Still got them. Mine are red.
I can understand you enjoying podcasts. I like to listen to music when I get tired, but talk radio can be very soothing as well. Audiobooks I find to be great for dropping off to. Only thing is, I lose my place. Someone needs to invent a way of determining when you fall asleep so the audiobook places a bookmark where you do.
You're welcome. And it is meant, I have a longtime friend going through a similar phase, diagnosed with NET2, had 3 surgeries but it all looks ok now. Needs a new scan every now and then, which I think is good: I'm way too young to have lost so many friends already.

1. Enjoy your kids to the fullest. I don't have any of my own, but my best friend has 3, and I visit every week to not only see her but have fun with the kids as well. Great way for me to enjoy my photography hobby as well, and I have now created avast collection that everyone is enjoying. Especially since her husband isn't into photography and if it wasn't for me the grandparents would be, well, without any pictures. I'm thanked for it, but that's not the reason why I make so many. Ah, kids - love 'em (well, the nice ones lol)
2. I do have a habit of starting to like something on TV after a while though, so perhaps I should give these podcasts another listen next week.

That makes sense then. I don't know why it is that I can't enjoy listening to people talk over the radio, but I just don't.
...Elop... spy.
lol
... trying to look cute
Trying? I saw you play the violin; no need to 'try'.
Nokia Play NFC speaker
I'll see if they have it at the same store that is getting a special demo-suitcase from Shure. I asked them if I could listen to the 315 & 425 models but they said no. I later saw on the web that this particular dealer is supposed to have demo phones so they are now waiting on the demo models.
...Nokia...
Gees, you must have a very impressive collection. I don't recall ever seeing a picture of those phones. Any chance we can see them? if not, still cool.

No, silly. They buy glass cleaner by the case.

Yes: They need to work out more.
