While the ASP of the phones will go up, I've seen a few writers mention they will no longer need their ipad mini or air if they get the 6 plus. Time will tell if these phones cannibalize apple's tablet sales and if the larger phone prices make up for it.
Never be afraid to cannibalize your own sales with a new product. If you don't do it, someone else will.
The iPhone usurped the iPod. The iPad has better margins than a macbook. I'm sure there are more.
I would slightly temper that by saying that I don't think as many people will buy the iPhone 6 Plus 128GB proportionally as bought the iPhone 5s 64GB, ie the top of the line, the reason being that more people will be satisfied with 64GB and won't feel the need for 128GB, especially with the expanded and reasonably priced iCloud options; however, because the Plus overall is more expensive, I anticipate that this will therefore boost the ASP.
