This old man, he played one,
He played knick-knack on my drum;
With a knick-knack paddywhack,
Give the dog a bone,
This old man came rolling home.
Since. we're talking "China" here, the song has special meaning -- based on a true story: during the Japanese invasion of Chine during WWII -- where children are marched across the wilderness to freedom while singing this song to distract them from the danger and their impossible quest.
It's a real tear-jerker ...
See @5:29 in the movie below -- where the children arrive to safety:
Article states the following regarding China Mobile, "more than 50 percent of all supply entering the country on launch day." ?????? All iPhones in the world ship FROM China therefore China telecom's iPhones never left the country!
I suspect iP6 will be massive in Asia, it'll be purchased instead of a phone and an iPad, but the profit margin on the iP6 is so huge, Apple will make yet another massive pile of cash.
Interesting to see the mix of iPhone 6 and 6+ the Chinese market was buying. With the East and West going nuts for the new iPhones this does not bode well for Samsung/Android or Microsoft. And the less said about Blackberry, the better.
It's clear talking with friends that the primary appeal of Android devices has been the screen size differential. There are those that are
Android may be flexible but it's clear that developers just can't cope with the hardware permutations. There are points where Google gets it very right (tags in Gmail for instance - the one thing keeping me from migrating to Apple Mail) but most android software leaves a lot to be desired. basic apps like Facebook and twitter (and a crap ton of freemium titles) are comparable but apps that truly push the hardware in novel ways are almost exclusively available for iOS.
I've always felt that Apple's strength has been the "it just works" (for the most part) ecosystem. The people that chastise Apple for not offering things like direct user access to a manipulatable file system see mobile phones as nothing more than portable PC's. Open and free sounds great, but if the last 30 years of PC computing have taught us anything it's that complete user freedom means a whole bunch of undesirable experiences like viruses, malware, the proliferation of pirated content and even things as mundane as half-assed software interfaces that end up stifling the experience for everyone. What I think users are increasingly expecting is a more curated experience where they are free to focus on their content, and transition it seamlessly between apps in a variety of workflows. People don't want to think in terms of file management, version, backups and apps that violate privacy through overreach. It's asking too much of the user. This is what Tim Cook means by the "post-PC" era.
Seemed to me like a tacky thing to do, to promote my stuff here. (Even though it's a free, and a five-star rated, app).
However, it's amazing what searching using some obvious keywords can return!;)
If it's some clue in your signature, I'll just note that the mobile version of this site strips out a lot of detail, including sigs.
I don't have a signature. I meant searching for something obvious like 'myname+app'.
To not sound too coy, it's called uValue. It's a corporate valuation app. The iPad version is really good, even if I say so myself. The iPhone veriosn -- even though it has the same functionality as the iPad's -- had to make some design compromises. (Also, iOS 8 has created some slight formatting issues in the iPhone version, which I have not had fixed yet.)
(Good thing this is a sparsely populated thread: I feel less like I am trying to promote something.....:))

At the very least it lets people know who you are (which I have known for a long time now).
Meh, that's sort of what I was trying to avoid. But given my AI username, I suppose someone could have figured it out.... although, I was relying on people's laziness to not bother to do a search, and I think that's largely worked.
(Aargh... The autocorrect on iOS 8 really acts weird sometimes!).

I'm going to have a play with that - thanks anant !
Side note - just had a play with an iphone 6 and a 6+ (A friend got the 6 for himself and the 6+ for his wife.)
Size wise - 6 all the way for me. I had thought that I'd prefer the 6+ - but the 6 is the sweet spot as far as I'm concerned.
Still have a few months to go on contract with my old now POS 4s :-)

Or maybe not....maybe the reservation system will help.

Xiaomi the money.
This is the main reason that I have not even bothered to put my app out for Android. And will not.
Promote your app, man! What is it and give us a link!

LOL
That was considerably more funny than mine!
(By the way, your app looks extremely impressive)
That's 1 million in 6 hours. I think it's now 20 million after 3 days of Pre-orders!!!
