I think apples doing that... this is kind of the imac's introduction, either way this is the best damn commercial they've put out in a helluva long time. honestly this is possibly their best commerical ever, maybe they went with a new agency? who handles their account and what else do they make? anyways if apple wanted to intrigue people to learn more about the imac in a 30 second spot i can't think of a better way
I just saw it during Dateline (spooky). That has to be the most pathetic ad I've ever seen. How in the hel1 does a commercial that shows a computer shaking it's "head" and sticking out it's "tongue" sell a product? The iMac I saw at CompUSA couldn't shake it's head. I hope apple has a better one to show at the oscars.

I wish Apple would advertise more about what Macs can DO, instead of advertising their style. And an OS X ad would be cool, at least, an ad that showed OS X. The iMac ad doesn't make me want to buy an iMac, there is simply no substance to it. I don't understand how it would make any non-mac users want a Mac, either.
<strong>BTW if Apple talked about specs in their ads they wouldn't be Thinking Different.
</strong><hr></blockquote>
damnit man! didn't you get the signal in your 'steve jobs' brain chip!?! we don't say think differnet anymore! it's 'everything is easier on a mac'. i bet you dont even know the new hand shake...

 I guess that's why you're not in advertising. This blows the ipod and ibook commercials where they show 'what you can DO' with a mac out of the water. There should be a minute long 'what you can DO' on a mac commercial. not just an imac... cuz you can do it on all macs, the last imac ads didn't show what you could 'do' and if i recall they sold a few of those. It's a 30 second spot... maybe we should slap Schiller talking in there eh?
FWIW, I think the new ad is OK, the tongue thing is a happy surprise for people - they like it more when they see that. But I'm in the minority when I say that I liked the Pixar spots more. They were more fun IMO.
Was that Jeff Goldblums voice at the end? <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />
<strong>Anybody think Goldblum is good or bad for the iMac image?</strong><hr></blockquote>
Well, I thought he was good until some car company picked him up to do their ads, too. Now, I think a lot of people will get confused by the two, thinking the car company bought out Apple or something. Trust me, it'll happen.
Continuity is married with exclusivity. If Apple's going to have Jeff Goldblum, then ONLY Apple should have him. Same applies to the car company. On the same note, if Apple's going to use the guy from the iPod ad, then only use THAT GUY for your voice. In TV and radio, continuity is everything. Same graphics, same music, same voice, etc.
Comments
exactly.

<strong>That's the first ad from Apple I've actually liked since their Tank/Super-Computer ad.</strong><hr></blockquote>
I forgot about the tanks one. That was probably my favorite ad of all time.
