You can't be serious here. IPad got the most complete update to date and by far is the biggest overhaul of a prioduct that Apple has released to date.
What we are seeing here is perfectly normal behavior for a hot product. You see a massive rush by everybody and their brother to get a new device then eventually the market cools off and you get sales to people that actually need the device.
I must say I'm not bullish on iPad at all. On last quarters conference call Cook said Apple had interesting things planned for iPad. This quarter he says he's perfectly fine if people choose to buy an iPhone or Mac instead of iPad. And at the iPad event when Cook was talking about how great the Air is and what can Apple do to improve on it, he runs a video showing it get 18% thinner than the previous version. And Schiller spends most of his time focusing on the camera! Either Apple has no clue what to do with iPad or their research tells them Steve was wrong and people don't want an in between device. iPad can't replace their phone or their Mac so they'd rather have a bigger phone and a Mac and bye bye iPad. I hope I'm wrong because I really love my iPad but I think Apple needs to shake up iPad in a big way next year and if they don't that means they're willing to let it die a slow death.
I'm not going to defend what happened in the keynote, from my standpoint it is asinine to focus on a camera in a tablet. However what was glossed over indicates that we basically have an entirely new iPad Air. So Cook wasn't blow bull crap around, they actually did deliver a vastly better tablet.

Are you even joking? 18% thinner, less than a pound, 250% faster GPU with much less throttling than the competition!! 40% faster CPU, a camera similar to the Iphone 5, with some
iphone 6 like processing, touch ID, faster network, Apple Sim, universal cell network chipset, more color choices, a much better display, x265 encoding, decoding, a top notch free software suite, etc.
WTH are you expecting. They're at the top. That's equivalent to a mid range 2011 laptop (with 2012 level GPU) in a ridiculously small form factor. If someone showed you this 5 years ago you'd think its magic!!
But don't infer I'm saying the iPad will crumble. The iPad is a widely successful device that can't be disputed, even with the haters suggesting that the drop in unit sales mean it's a flash in the pan. I see no other outcome but a long history of iPad sales, and likely a larger iPad size, too.
If a larger iPad had been introduced we would have bought one as soon as it was available.
Now we are most likely to buy an iPad Air 32 and save a few bucks.

Yeah, I've seen this sentiment on various boards today, and one thing they all have in common is that they never say what *would* have been a significant upgrade. You nailed it. The thing's loaded, and it's thinner than an iPhone 6+! Come on.

I have been seeing quite a few of these comments about iPad and the camera. Apple doesn't guess about this stuff. They can look at the data. I'm quite positive they can run a query against iCloud and find out what devices are taking pictures, how many, etc. We know you can do this on flickr and that is just a subset of Apple users using that service.
Keep in mind that these iPad numbers are pretty damn strong for as crappy as the cameras have been as compared to the phones.
I can't wait to see what impact the new iPad portfolio has on the next quarters numbers. Touch ID and Apple Pay are nothing to sneeze at (iPad mini 3 haters), and the Air 2 was an update to the whole device. Lower prices and higher capacities will also help.
It blows my mind that the stock is only up a little over 2% pre market. When even Joe Kernan on CNBC is scratching his head you know it doesn't make any sense. I wouldn't call him an Apple fanboy by any means. But maybe too many on Wall Street think like he does; that Apple's just a hits driven business and they're running out of hits, there's no next there. I think it's dumb but as long as iPhone is such a huge percentage of total revenues this thought will prevail.

It isn't. Phil is right, it is the best viewfinder and he has that info because it comes from the 'field'.
I know it because it was the first thing I noted.
Look at is this way, this isn't a feature for everyone, but it is for people making (semi) professional fotos and even film.

It will never make sense, because it's a gamblers market.
Compare it to horse race gambling.

Now that the world has seen what a horrible failure Tim Cook is, when do we get to replace him?

All Apple Cameras used in the Flickr Community
Take a look at some of the pictures posted from iPad minis and you can see right away that people are using them for actual photography.

This makes me really happy.
Not that this really means anything, not concrete anyways. But AAPL is up 1.29% in after hours trading, for whatever that's worth.
I think he would, too.

Interesting to note how Apple devices top the list followed by Canon and Nikon professional cameras. Samsung comes in after that.
