I agree with you that Siri has a long way to go, but it has never been stateless, and it can do exactly what you just described.  I just tried "What's the number of the local subway."  Siri: there are several local subway restaurants fairly close to you, tap the one you want.  I tapped one and it spoke the number.  Me: go ahead and call that number.  Siri: Call Subway at ...?  If I said yes, it would have called that number.  That's not "stateless."  Unless you mean long-term stateless, in which case you're right.  I wanted to test your scenario about coming back later to learn the song I had it identify earlier, so I asked Siri: "Show me a history of my Siri questions."  Siri said "Ok, one of these historical societies looks fairly close to you:..."  Uh...  I couldn't find a way to get my Siri responses from this weekend.  Having said that, the Siri Shazaam addition is great.  Trying to find and run the Shazaam app that I rarely use takes way longer than asking "what's this song?" (especially since I can never remember the name of the Shazaam app).

This is simply incorrect. It stored History in iTunes i believe.

"Alternatively, business owners can verify through an email address affiliated with their company's website, provided they have one."

I was simply stating, as you have done, that no company does that anymore, they use an online form. If they meant that the email simply had to be in the same domain as the website that is what they should have said. They also refer to "business owner" when it probably should read authorized company representative.

The automated validation phone call is a much better method in my opinion as it lets you continue uninterrupted where the email address method is probably going to require a human get involved to verify the authenticity.

does this site not know whats its doing? the first image, a photo, was improperly saved as a PNG and is 333k. thats absurd and an incorrect use of PNG over JPG.

no wonder we're using so much data on our mobiles...kids today don't understand the fundamentals of their own platforms...

so google can catch up to apple's leads, but apple can't catch up to google's? absurd. all it takes is time and money.

really pretty simple: because more iOS users use Maps than Google Maps. thats a fact now. if you're in the business of trying to make money, you publish for as many markets as you can (two is absurdly simple).

I am part of a large government agency and trying to get our local offices listed in Apple Maps is (was) a nightmare! I called Apple and they didn't even know how to do it, saying they lease the maps from another company.

Hopefully this will help. I'll try it tomorrow.

They do lease map data from many, many companies. They have a link in every single one of their map apps.
