    I must say, I had given the idea of Apple selling their stuff in Iran nary a thought.

    couldn't agree you more, it is the US policies make things worse and it is all for appeasing Israel. US certainly knows that they have discontinued but they don't seem to admit it  because they want to invade the  country too just like they did with Iraq with "WMD".
