Q: do you think the next step for online payments will be embedding NFC Receivers in Macs, so we can use Apple Pay online?
Imagine that? Being on Amazon, you see a product, you click on buy, it prompts you to hold your phone to the palm rest of your Macbook or the chin of your iMac or the case of your Mac Mini or Mac Pro, and you TouchID to confirm, and it would auto transmit a token with your info and payment in one batch, securely?
I saw this here and was glad to get to use it at my local Staples today. I had a problem when the cashier asked for the last four digits of my actual card - they didn't match the virtual numbers and the payment was rejected, even though it appeared on my phone that everything had gone through. I haven't had this problem at other Apple Pay merchants.
Yea I went to Staples a couple of nights ago, and asked if they accepted Apple Pay and they said not yet, looked at the terminal didn't see the wireless logo. So didn't try it.
