Full video of Apple exec Greg Joswiak's Code/Mobile interview posted online
The full version of Greg "Joz" Joswiak's October interview with Re/code has been posted online, with the Apple VP of iPhone, iPod, and iOS Product marketing discussing the iOS 8.0.1 snafu and Apple Pay, among other topics.
While a majority of the 34-minute interview, conducted during Re/code's Code/Mobile conference last month, goes over well-trod talking points, Joswiak offered inside perspective on the troubles behind Apple's recent iOS 8 rollout.
When iOS 8.0.1 was released in September, the update was meant fix an initial iOS 8 problem with the HealthKit framework, but instead disabled cellular connectivity and Touch ID for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. As explained by Joswiak, the update's contents were clean, the issue lay in the code's "wrapping."
He went to deny scuttlebutt that Apple has developed quality control issues, saying mistakes are to be expected when dealing with advanced technology.
