Can’t change the past, but I’m glad Tesla sells its products. I know it’s not on their docket right now, but just imagine if they prepare a skateboard-only option for customers?
You know, you buy the battery and drive train only and then can place on top of it any historic car body that will fit the proportions. We could have electric DeLoreans, electric Roadmasters, and all the muscle car bodies of the ‘60s and ‘70s.
If you standardize the mechanics of the vehicle, we could bring back variety in automobile design! How I’ve missed that.

I've always dreamed that Apple use this concept with their products. Give us the "skeleton," let us upgrade the internals to keep up with the times. But since Apple has turned kind of evil over the years, I don't expect this to happen.
Interesting leasing model. Like all leases the attractiveness of this deal depends on the buy-out option at the end as that drives the implicit interest rate you're paying.
I can see how this could be attractive for small/medium business with ipad-equipped mobile workers, and you always want them to have a tablet no more than 2 years old. Takes the risk/hassle out of selling the tablets at the end of the 2 years and offers financing. Again - really depends on implicit interest rate.

High-five for this reference.

“You funny man. I kill you last.”
It looks like the remaining balance is just the difference between the full price and the $480 (20*24 months) so you end up paying the same.

Completely agree. Yet the credit industry and leasing are very lucrative... avoid both I do.
