But is Obama still using the Blackberry that he was so proud of during the first couple years of his presidency? It's a good phone/metaphor for him since RIM is outdated, going bankrupt, can't adapt, and is not made in the USA.

Steve Jobs gave him an iPad, and he used only once, to download the Kindle version of the book that Hugo Chavez suggested, "The Open Veins of Latin America: Five Centuries of the Pillage of a Continent," basically a book on why socialism is superior to American Capitolism, and a book Obama extolled.

As he has Saudi, he has a pen, and he has a phone. The pen is the fail safe when the RIM servers are down for their near weekly hiatus.

    Okay, I'll stop.

Anytime you make quality claims about some piece of photography, music, video, art, food, fashion, etc., you're going to get the experts chiming in on the multiple fallacies of your claims. I wouldn't take this as a negative thing at all. These people are just a lot more and deeper into the subject matter than your average layperson and amateur who simply reacts to something based on what their heart tells them rather than a forensic dissection of the item.

I'm totally cool with this. God bless amateurism and its simple pleasures.

If you can find aperture blades on your iPhone please let me know. Else I can assure you that you cannot change the aperture.

BTW, I never said or even implied that one could change the aperture, YOU brought that up when you failed to comprehend the meaning of the words being used. I simply said "the aperture responded perfectly"  fixed or not...

Oh yeah,  "Fixed- not fixed I need a citation"    I should have added the sarcasm tag  and an LOL to that since it went right over your head. It was implied when I said "it wouldn't matter anyway"... WTF? aperture blades in a cell phone? seriously?

And so you wanted to try and start an argument over the word "responded". What a desperate for attention person you are. Look up the word responded in a dictionary since you obviously don't know its definition. Maybe, if I had instead said the camera responded perfectly your feeble mind would have been able to understand what was actually being implied. But, I was referring to the DOF (aperture) of the camera. So thats the word I used.

well here you go. Woo hoo! are one smart cookie. /s ( <-- end sarcasm tag- just to help the feeble minded to comprehend)

"Not by much" indeed!! it was not even worth mentioning, much less trying to make an argument over. Desperate, feeble...ROFLPIMP

The iPhone 6+, 6 and 5S has a 2.2. The 5 had a 2.4 aperture. Now we all can see just how much more incredibly deep the DOF is with the 5's camera over the latest and greatest 6's and their amazing cameras, /s (<-- again for the feeble minded) that just so happen to have been bragged about by an accomplished, published, professional photographer, and why someone would want to start an argument over it. You have impressed me with your superb knowledge of photography, artistic taste and technical prowess. /s <---

AI will have to remind all members to never try to match wits with a master artist/photographer like you. /s <---(do you get it, yet?) By all means, post a link to your photography work so we can compare it to Brooks Kraft's work and we can then all marvel at your mad photography skills and fully understand your self appointed yet delusional position to critique a photographer of his stature.

But, no- the point you were trying to make is actually mute. You originally shot your mouth off about how much deeper the field is on the 5.  The specs, although technically correct for your points validity would make very little difference in the DOF.  Especially when one considers the newer, larger camera sensors and software will process photos superior to those in the iPhone 5.

The photo is awesome and I was correct in my explanation of the photo's DOF. And you are full of shit for trying to make an argument over the word "responded"

I love that the iPhone is getting more camera crew, but honestly these photos aren't that great.

With enough light, smartphones take decent pictures:

When it's darker like here with the iPhone 6:

    https://www.flickr.com/photos/lexpix_/15940993082/

you can see the grain in the sky and color noise all over the ground. They can be corrected somewhat in an image editor:

but it would be nice if it came off the camera like the 2nd picture because you know that people are going to be uploading them without doing any editing at all, some because they don't know how or don't want to take the time and others because they want to show what the iPhone 6 can do on its own. The White House Christmas images have been compressed a lot and are out of focus (pull the browser window wider to see the photos side by side).

When it comes to a consumer camera, I think this is where they should go a similar route to the original Beats in that rather than go for accuracy, they tuned the audio based on what they wanted people to hear. This can't be applied to everything though because there are times when the accurate way is better, the tuning should be done in the most appropriate circumstances. In smartphone photography, that should be done in lower light scenarios. Nobody wants to see the noise so clamp it out. If some details are gone then the person should have used the flash or used a camera with a higher sensor sensitivity. If they go with dual lenses in future, they'll be able to improve the quality as they can set each sensor differently.

No, based on a Google search of this photographer. Not based on this one image. These images are amatuerish from a technical and artistic standpoint. If you want, there is a link in this article from this shoot, they are all poor images.

Go handle a Canon Rebel or a Sony a5000 and see if you can use even 10% of what they can do, if these pictures truly impress you.

    What the…??

You don't even understand which side of the argument you are on.  <img class=" src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />

If you think this is a great picture, then I guess you haven't seen very many pictures taken with the iPhone 6.
