Is it just me or...
...has Apple really been pushing the new iMac ads. For instance, today, while watching TechTV, I caught the iMac ad 7 times. Usually I don't see an apple ad more than once a week, and here it is 7 times a day. During the noon hour alone they had it on 3 times. I also wasn't watching all day. Only a few hours. I think it is great to see an increased presence in the media.
Has anyone else had any of these types of encounters before?

Good to see a little more mac advertising around, instead of just the usual product placement and keynote stuff. I mean, keynotes are really just for geeks and the faithful, and product placement might get noticed, but then again it doesn't really communicate with people on a customer level. Apple needs to run more ads to reach more people, a great many of which aren't on the web, and don't know much about Apple, or M$, or tech in general. They just might by a mac if they new a little more about it.

Good points. The people that watch, say TechTV, probably eith own a mac already or are the type of PC users that would never think of owning a mac. They need to advertise more on normal stations and normal shows, like thay did on the oscars.
And how about those Pentium 4 ads? This man and woman go on about collaboration, how it's changing business, etc. They show a screen with a couple of IM programs open, with huge buddy lists, open chat windows, and they go on and on about how this is the new way to communicate, etc. Then they cut to the guy saying "The Pentium 4 processor is made specifically for this kind of workload."
Hmm. The best damn instant messaging processor on the planet? Cool.
Um, ok, maybe this was off topic, but it's been bugging me...

I have even noticed the new iMac running a lot in Alberta, and you usually NEVER see any Mac commercials. It's very nice to see for a change.
iDome, we don't sit around watching ads. We just watch TV and an Apple ad comes up.
If you have nothing better to do, watch TV. If watching ads is the highlight of the day - then maybe you don't have the ability to think with your own mind... BTW I have BBC news 24 on all day - but I don't watch it... It's just noise and there are no ads...
Ignore TV - live without dead time...

completely wrong. Apple should have had heavy adverstisemtn on TechTV years ago. The timing now is just perfect though. techTV is not a station for geeks. Many many normal computer users who just want to learn a little bit or have a problem watch.
Their audience also thinks of Leo, Pat, Chris, etc. as gods, They believe and follow every word they say. TechTV has been extremely pro apple since MWSF and their onair personalities are constantly praising and reccomending the new imac. If you paid attention to their chat rooms and message boards you'd see it is really getting a lot of attention. The apple ads are just what they need to really be pushed over the edge and maybe buy a mac
\tI believe that there can be a good balance of using TV as an entertainment source vs. it being a thing to use to waste time that could other be used doing something productive
eat that atlantic ocean!
Sitcoms, at least, can spur the imagination. Video games only help hand eye coordination, which has nothing to do with math and english.
