Anyone else getting the 10.10.2 combo update saying that "OS X Update Combined can't be installed on this disk. The volume does not meet the requirements for this update." on a standard 10.10.1 install (with volume encryption).

I have the 10.10.2 delta update showing in the App Store update but I'm in the combo update cargo cult having been burned some time in the distant past I vaguely recall...

    Just updated to S X 10.10.2.

Still have same Wi Fi problem as before.

Never had a network problem on Mavericks.

    Please help.

    Thanks,

    1) You can edit your posts on this forum, so no need for multiple posts. 62

    2) Googling "Mac OS X Network problems" should get a lot of ideas. I think the following are still valid:
Navigate to the /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/ folder and delete:

    com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
    preferences.plist

    In /Home/Library/Preferences/ByHost delete:

    com.apple.preference.internet.xxxxxxxxxx.plist

    Restart the computer.

    3) If resetting preferences doesn't work I'd consider backing up and then reinstalling Yosemite.

Have previous versions of Yosemite run fast as well? I have a late 2009 27" and it runs very, very slowly now.

I'll probably do a clean install once I off-load the files to external drives. The difference in performance between Mavericks and Yosemite is really striking.

Didn't work, but thanks for your advice.

The problem is that cannot attach files to browser based email.  Keep getting Attachment Failure.

Never had this problem in Mavericks.

I'll try the Apple Store tomorrow.

    Thanks!

By the way, no problems when I use Parallels 10 and IE or Chrome.  No problems with attachments under Windows 7 under Parallels.

    Strange problem keep persisting.

    Any suggestions?

You said that you had WiFi/Network issues and now you're saying you can't attach files to a browser-based mail client. Those previous troubleshooting techniques have zero to do with you're newly restarted problem.

The only problem has been attaching files to Browser emails over WiFi.  Did not have the problem before Yosemite.

Apple Genius's thought it was a WiFi problem, and so did I.

But, you make a good point.  Perhaps it's something else.

Only change was to go from Mavericks to Yosemite.  Problem reproduces on multiple networks; home and at Apple Store.

You might be on to something.

    Any other suggestions are appreciated!

Just found out the Combo updater only works from 10.10.0 not 10.10.1.

Seems Apple have changed how the Combo updater works!

    "Apple's OS X 10.10.2 update fixes Wi-Fi connection issues"

    No. No, it does not.

    Very, very disappointed.

Ironically, when this issue first reared it's ugly head many, many moons ago I was never affected. Now, at some point during the process of Apple attempting to address it, I am.

I must admit that I'm beginning to get a little concerned about Apple's ability to address this issue involving their own software on their own hardware.

With 10.10.2 update, it has introduced a Bluetooth bug I did not have before the update.

Immediately after the update, my bluetooth keyboard and mouse become disconnected then reconnect during use.  Then, every several minutes, Yosemite will just simply turn Bluetooth off. Not just disconnect but turn off completely.  I have to turn Bluetooth back on in System Preferences to use my keyboard and mouse again.

This morning, even though I have it setup correct to do so, I could not wake up the computer using my external keyboard and mouse because overnight (just turned off again as I was typing) Bluetooth turned off.

I tried resetting PRAM and SMC last night but doesn't help.

    Anyone have suggestions?

I'm all happy for the 10.10.2 update...but... If the the 10.10.3 beta cycle doesn't have GRAPHICS written all over it, then Apple is just not taking its issues seriously anymore.  I personally know several people that can't even use their Adobe products anymore because the graphics glitches are so bad.

Maybe Apple should pour some of that 18 billion dollar quarterly profit back into hiring people to clean up their graphics platform!  Let's bring the OpenGL implementation out of the stone age.  Let's get some nVidia and ATI drivers that AREN'T 3 years old!  Let's fix WindowServer once and for all!!  There is no reason why Apple shouldn't have the best-in-class graphics platform on their computers.

    So, Apple...let's get crackin'!

Yes, would be nice to see an update to the article about this.  I was literally about to download the Combo installer as I've done through all of OS X but now it seems like that a -.1 point to point upgrade is no longer supported.

Problem solved.  thank you for all your suggestions!

It was Intego Anti-Virus for Mac software causing the problem on Yosemite.  I'm done with using Intego.

Apple Genius Bar at local Apple Store found the problem.  Thank You Apple!

WiFi, Attaching Emails, and everything else is working at top speed.

    Thanks for all your suggestions.

That only applies if you've used 3rd party software to enable TRIM support on non-Apple installed SSDs. Correct, and this only became an issue with Yosemite because of kext signing.  Prior versions of OS X did not require the Trim Enabler program to be disabled before an update was run, and then re-enabled after the update was installed.
