Well as one that has worked with the man back in 97' 98' etc the actor should at least look the part, Michael Fassbender does not look the part and IT does not do Steve Jobs justice. My comment was towards @PMZ comment, I think you need to read my post agin, nobody is "bitching" it was a statement there is a difference.

Good question. Is that possible? IDK.

Time for some people to go write some hipster reviews on the IMDB about how bad it is? Ha.

I like Michael Fassbender as an actor and I enjoyed reading the book. I will most likely see the film. I hope the actors, producers, directors etc do it justice. I hope Michael did his homework on how to portray Steve because he certainly does not look the part. And Seth as the Woz? Give me a break again not even close to the look. Did the Hollywood types ever look at photo's or watch the keynotes let alone speak to people that worked with either one of them? We'll see...

I'd say that if you're portraying a real life person in a movie that's about that person, then at least try to make some effort to have it resemble the real life person. Why can't they act the role and look the role? That is better than just acting the role.

Look at the guy's hair and hair color. What a joke. Didn't they have the budget to buy a $5 tube of hair coloring at Rite-Aide?

Why not get a 350 LB fat guy to play Steve Jobs, as long as they did a good acting job? I mean, the resemblence is not that important right?

I've seen skinny Henry VIIIs and black Scrooges. Both were fine.

I just checked: it is indeed possible.

No, sorry, but I disagree. Perhaps if this movie were made decades into the future, but this is only a few years out after his death. Everyone still vividly remembers how he looks. It won't come across as authentic.

Yeah, neither of them look remotely like the originals. Lame. Ashton Kutcher was more believable as Jobs.

To bad he had to move and talk and break the illusion ;-).

A silent movie with Kutcher would have worked. If you mute the audio on the following trailer and ignore the poor makeup at the end, it works ok:

Audio might be a problem with Fassbender too though because he's Irish. Irish into an English accent is ok like you can see here in X-Men:

Here Fassbender puts on an American accent, listen to 0:37 especially where he says 'bashful half smoile' (he's the guy in the mask):

That's pretty bad, it slips way too easily back to Irish. I reckon it would be ok if he did it like the Magneto clip there and if he can do a very minimal American accent to that with absolutely making sure any word with an 'i' sound doesn't turn into 'oi'. It's not an oiPod.

@PMZ writes a post here that it does not matter that Michael Fassbender doesn't look like Jobs as long as he can act the part. That is the stupidest comment I have ever read. That's like saying they could have got Linda Carter to play the part because she is a good actress but who cares according to @PMZ it doesn't matter.

Well, that is stupid, and it does matter, at least Ashton somewhat looked the part in "Jobs" and Noah Wyle looked like Steve in Pirates of Silicon Valley (he could of done this part as well). Once again Hollywood has no freaking clue and should butt out of Silicon Valley. Steve did not have sandy blond hair nor was it slicked back. The look fails at all levels, surprised Michael did not mention that to anyone in charge. Do Steve Jobs justice and either stop and fix the problem now or hire Noah to another actor that looks like Steve, because IT IS important.

It really doesn't. As long as its within a reasonable ball park. Plenty of less famous people are played by actors who look only approximately like them. Because they are less famous no-one gives a Sh-1.t

Fassbender looks more like Kahn from Star Trek into Darkness than Jobs. I hope he does not make that face for the entire movie.

Ashton Kutcher played a great Steve Jobs who was pretending to be Ashton Kutcher ... nailed it!

No. Has he ever played any character other than Seth Rogan?

That makeup was pretty bad. As bad as the makeup on the guy who played Nixon in The Watchmen movie.

What about Guy Pearce as a very old Peter Weyland in Prometheus? I don't get why they even needed Guy Pearce in that role at all, unless they've planned on doing some pre-prequel, sequel where Peter Weyland is some how made young again (e.g.: clone?), or a new direction for the Alien franchise. Regardless, there is no excuse for his horrible makeup in that flick.

Completely agree. Another dismal makeup job.
