Well, I'm on an old beige ADB keyboard at the moment, and it has a key that has "del" on it above a rectangular box with one side of it that is pointed to the right. Make sense?
In other words, with the forward delete key.
It's in a group of six keys, three on top, three on bottom between the numeric keypad and the main keypad area.
The small USB keyboards don't have this key, I don't think. However I believe the new USB Pro keyboards do. I'll have to go look to see for sure.

Logically speaking, I think there should only be one delete key on any keyboard. The delete key should always delete forward. Deleting backwards is for the backspace key. The backspace key lets you (backspace) while deleting anything in it's way. Often times I found myself pressing the delete key when all I wanted to do was go back a few spaces on a blank line. But, I guess it's just what you are used to.
Both my Classic II and my Quadra did not have proper delete keys. The new Apple Keyboards do though (can't speak for the ones in-between). Also, why is it that the 'Num Lock' key also clears away entire lines of text? That's a dangerous little dual function if you ask me.
Anyway, keyboards and mice are not (and never were) Apple's strong points (IMHO). I am hoping for a two button (SCROLL) mouse from Apple (with some better contextual menu options in OS X to go along with it).
Friggin crap! How is it that we don't have any normal sized keyboards in here? I thought Graphite G4s were supposed to have the full size keyboard.
I'm gonna have a look around, I bet there are a lot of older iMacs with full size keyboards nestled into people's offices. BASTARDS!

Well the original G4s came with the small USB keyboard, so the G4s probably just have their originally keyboards hooked up to them.
If you notice, under the words num lock the key also says clear. That's probably why is clears away lines of text.

Yes, I know that! My point is, if you are in the middle of typing a passage and decide to turn on numlock, you clear everything you've just typed when all you wanted to do was turn numlock on. I think 'clear' should be it's own key instead of a shared key.

You're right that clear should have its own key, but it's not like pressing num lock makes a difference (except for on the iBook and TiBook).
If Apple needs any more proof that their PowerMac G4 tower prices are ridiculous all they have to do is take a look at ebay. There are tons of older G4s selling for up to $1000. If Apple had a $999, even a $1299 new tower they would sell.
I myself am looking at a few G4 466's for $850-$999(CDRW and zip drive). I refuse to pay $1600 for a new computer!...............................

But we have DP533 and SP733 graphite, they were upgraded from 1st generation speed-dropped G4's. Someone, well actually a few someones, have my friggin full-size keyboards. And I never noticed untill now! Well, I noticed but I figured the full-size keyboards just came after. Arrghh, I just assumed they came set-up that way. I'm an idiot!

Just a real quick note here guys. Got the PC going (believe it or not, very easy).
I feel ashamed to say this here... but I actually like this thing. Feels faster than my 800 MHz G4 PowerMac, and jeeeesus is that other internet thread right - web surfing is like 5 times faster.
Dude, it is UN - BE - LEIVABLE how much faster web surfing is on this with my DSL modem.
I'm just sitting here shaking my head...
I wish I had never tried this damn thing with my the DSL line... and wishing I didn't surf the net so much. Damn, my Mac is going to seem like such a slouch after this.
One thing that is sucking hard is MP3 players. I encoded a little with Media Player (at a limit of 192 kbps of course), haven't found a good MP3 ripper yet. Nothing at all matched iTunes for ease of use, that's for sure...
BTW, my SoundSticks are recognized by this XP box, and sound better than they do on my freakin' Mac!
[quote]- Apache on Linux over IIS (what garbage) on 2K

So how exactly is Apache on Linux better/more powerful than IIS on 2k? You made the assertion, I'm sure you have reasons, don't you?
[quote]- M$ doesn't even have an application server to the likes of Weblogic, Visual Age or even JBoss. Why would you even want to run any of these app servers on a wintel box any way?
- .NET, .what???

I think it's funny that you mention MS's supposed lack of an application server, then .NET back to back.
----Edit----
Holy mother of God, that's a signature I just responded to? I guess that explains why the rant seemed a bit off topic. Yet another reason I think signatures are stupid.

Ah, you see? Just when you started doing interesting* stuff.
*again, web surfing and word processing are not interesting

Most people don't use all-in-one apps unless they're also aol subscribers. Try EAC(Exact Audio Copy) for ripping and winamp for playing.

ROTFL. Well put!

If you really must have the iTunes look use the RealOne Player (from that spawn of satan corporation).
