Yes, that is exactly my comment. I understand why Apple would want to sell bonds with almost non existent interest rate, I just don't see the investor willing to spend thousands of dollars to get a return of a few hundred over 15 years.
I certainly don't understand all the machinations of investing (even though I'm heavily invested), but I don't get it either even if some European interest rates are negative. If I'm a European investor, why wouldn't I invest in a variety of stocks or stock funds to get a much higher return, even if riskier? While I do own some bonds and preferreds, they generally pay at least 4%, frequently much more. While I own some individual stocks, like Apple, most of my money is in a large variety of funds, including international funds. .05% is close to the crappy rate I get from my savings account. What's the current Apple dividend? Isn't even that higher than the .05% bond rate?
