The Verge review, which seemed highly critical of the device's interface, performance and battery life, stands in sharp contrast to the other reviews - which I'm certain would have reported such difficulties

So either everyone else is an apple shim.. or the Verge had an agenda/broken software?

Additionally some reviewers were getting far better battery than the 18 hours %u2013 perhaps they were using the 42mm model? We'll know more as further information becomes available, Gruber claims that he even had over 50% left one day, and not less than 20%

This article says Apple acknowledged some problems which were in the process of being addressed in upcoming software updates. If The Verge made it up why would Apple say they had updates coming that fixed some of it?

It's Vox Media in general. Polygon's gone from a gaming site with good features to a man-hating, conservative-bashing rathole. And they wonder why numbers are down.

No doubt that's why I was banned. Even though I never said anything that could be remotely considered offensive. Goodbye and good riddance.

There are going to be tons of improvements and optimizations as the months roll by. I think we're all going to completely happy once we get our hands on the Apple Watch, the apps, and the games.

Oh yes the games ... I'm sure that's what every gamer has been awaiting, a 1.5" square playing surface. /s

I don't think games is where the ?Watch will earn its keep.

Some people are actually making games for it:

It's designed to be played in sessions lasting 10-15 seconds. It's surprising what games take off sometimes. Millions of RPG players can play the most basic card games for hundreds of hours. Here's a guy unboxing some cards in a game and he finds a rare one just after 8 minutes in:

It's a card worth ~$30k but it's still a weird reaction to have over a card. I'm not sure what people get out of it but I suppose if there's character power ups, you can have people sitting around all day swiping at the watch to boost their character. Some of the most profitable games in the world are like this, the top one listed here says $10b:

League of Legends, World of Warcraft can make a one-on-one character building app for the watch and they might even be able to merge it with fitness so if you do a workout then it increases your character strength and stamina for when you play the desktop version.
