Yup not ugly, but hardly a fashion statement is it? they could have 'hidden' some of the depth by making the strap connect anywhere except where they had to do it, and the reason they had to fit it there was otherwise the diameter would have been effectively increased

I would imagine, that every 'smart' watch manufacturer that wants to become relevant, is going to go away from round faces to square ones. Round can look cool when displaying the analog watch face, but for every other screen its just awkward.

    Not ugly in renders.

Have you seen one on a wrist? Looks terrible.

not seen one on, they had them for sale in a discount warehouse near me - when i first saw it I thought it was a scuba dive compass -

I don't think it looks good - except from above - and then the famous flat tire would annoy me....

The initial build of most products could benefit from improvements, and they generally do if there's a v.2. From the Moto forums it seems there's a new version of the Moto 360 in final testing now with the retail release just around the corner. It's said to be much thinner among some other improvements.

Oh gosh how exciting ... /s

Right because a chubby, square face watch made in China is now a fashion statement - Jesus, we going backwards.

where did i say anything WAS a fashion statement - i only said this moto is NOT

just because a product is made in china does not mean it cannot be a fashion statement -

Not sure why the alleged son of an alleged god would need you to tell him that we are going backwards.

you don't seem to know much about fashion - if you did you would know that fashion often goes 'backwards' body piercings for example

A robin has a red breast

Anything that has a red breast is not necessarily a Robin

I don't know why people keep bashing the Moto 360 as the poster child for why round smart watches are bad. That watch has absolutely nothing in common with how a company like Apple would design a round smart watch, not to mention what a high quality watchmaker will come up with.

I agree all the smart watch manufacturers are going to follow Apple's lead, just like after the iPhone came out. And the usual cheap crap will come out of Samsung, et al. But round does not have to be awkward, just because that's how uncreative Android designers have come up with.

As long as people consider something worn on their wrist as more jewelry than anything else, then churning out nothing but square bricks on a strap for every arm in America is not going to satisfy everybody, no matter how attractive or stylish the bracelet. Whether Apple gets as heavily into fashion remains to be seen, but better watch designers than Moto will surely step up to the plate to offer something more stylish than a square display screen, regardless of what the device is otherwise designed to do.
