Show us your Mac! (plus free toolbar icon fix)
Ever wonder why your OS X Finder toolbar should show your Mac as a Grape iMac when your Mac (probably) isn't one?
Fret no longer. I've been tinkering with and perfect a script over in the <a href="http://forums.macnn.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=46&t=005773" target="_blank">MacNN forums</a>, and it's time I brought it here, too.
It's easy: just
<a href="http://homepage.mac.com/mybulkmail/system_reporter_ai.sit" target="_blank"> [ download and run this script ] </a>
and let it do its thing. Share your Mac with the rest of us here, and change your Finder toolbar icon to match your computer!
Plus, owners of the more rare Macs out there will do us all a favor by reporting back system IDs for those machines.

Also, I prefer the previous "profile" image of the G4 you used in RevB of the script at 'NN. Any change at having the option to choose?
Oh, I see you added the reset option. Nice. I just have one pointless feature request: show the names of all drives (or partitions I suppose). Gamma is my startup disk, but Lamda is my oh-so-important video scratch disk!

I blame the *&$#%! iDisk, because the Finder hung while copying the script from my disk to the iDisk. I had to kill the Finder, and I think something got munged.
I tried just recompiling, but that didn't fix it. It worked flawlessly for 100+ people before this, so I think it's definitely been messed up by the iDisk.
Could someone download the following text:
<a href="http://homepage.mac.com/mybulkmail/system_report.txt" target="_blank">http://homepage.mac.com/mybulkmail/system_report.txt</a>
(make sure you set Character Set to Western (Mac) in the View menu of IE), then paste it into Script Editor, and compile it (Save As Application)? Maybe that will cure the ills.

Mithras:
You forgot to use the AI address! I fixed that, compiled the script, and saved it here:

edit: Eugene, you didn't catch the address either -- ha!
