Years ago they banned any type of recording equipment at concerts.  Now, everyone has their phone out recording the event.

Boxing has become boring with the rise of MMA.  Let them go at it until only one is standing and then you have a winner.

Many of those jets belonged to the studios and entertainment industry. So, in fact, Periscope is NOT hurting them. You guys that are all complaining about livelihoods being effected and the industry being ripped, off have NO idea just how little impact it actually has. You can't blame technology for this. Technology is what made all the entertainment execs into millionaires.

I couldn't have said it better.   The fight generated something like $400 million, and I believe that was with gambling.  They are going to go after a few dozen or even a few hundred Periscope USERS who streamed their TV sets?  They are going to go after Twitter?  LOL.  Come on. It's a terrible look for the industry and for boxing, and is reminiscent of the idiotic behavior of RIAA, pre-iTunes store. They already tried "making an example" of individuals.  It simply doesn't work, and is a waste of time.

Proving damages here would be nearly impossible.  These people weren't charging, correct?  How do they show that their viewers would have spent $100 on the fight?  I mean, of all the idiocy.  Cable and traditional media is going to die a slow death.  Net Neutrality was the first step in cable PPV and cable itself collapsing.  Soon, Comcast et al will be cable internet providers who must allow rival internet TV services equal access by LAW.  They days of me paying Verizon FioS $180 for three boxes and one premium channel with DVR are nearly over.
