Obviously someone needs a little work in the finer points of being facetious.  I'm saying nothing more than I've been playing this game longer than you have.

yes, and because you don't fill up at Chevron, that means nowhere you've ever shopped at will ever replace their POSTs w/ an NFC-equipped model! EVAR! doom! DOOOOM! i hast seen the bleak future, apple and their hair-brained Apple Pay are doomed!

Could you show me where I predicted doom for Apple Pay?  You got all that from "haven't found a merchant that accepts it yet," which was my original post in its entirety.  Obviously, you took that to mean that I wasn't aware of anyone who accepts it, and decided to post something snarky in return.

i just used AP at my 100% local salon for my last haircut. sorry about your experience with Great Clips. I'm sure they will get better with time. AP coverage that is, not the hair cuts.

I agree.  And I'm hopeful it expands rapidly.  I am signed up and have an iPhone 6, so I'm ready to roll.  It's just not even close being a part (even a small part) of my financial life right now.  That's not unexpected.  I simply think that some of these "Apple lands 3,000,000 more Apple Pay Partners!!!" articles skew the reality for most folks.  I'm a pretty good example of a regular suburban middle-class guy who is fairly tech-savvy and pro-Apple.  I'm just saying it's not even close to being a thing for me yet.  That's OK, because either are things like HomeKit or HealthKit, which probably will be within, say, 5 years.
