I like the way they have implemented transit on the Maps app. That was by far the biggest thing that was keeping me on Google Maps, and it looks like Apple have done the implementation well (at least in the Bay Area). I'm happy about that.
Hope it's not a battery hog. I didn't realize this was beta software (do they normally release beta software through the usual software update option in Settings?) and probably would have waited to install if I had.

It was beta software until yesterday, it is now included in the official iOS 9 release. Unless you have joined the public or developer beta programs yourself, you will only get release versions through software update, no need to worry.

Oh, cool. I got the impression from Cash957's original post that he'd installed the version that I had, but obviously not.
So I'm getting the confirmation, from the comments here, that this OS and these stupid push features are a huge waste of resources... Wasn't iOS 9 supposed to be focusing on performance?

you're reading a 3-month old article with comments written during the beta.
Something must be wrong in your update it shows up on the last page of mine.
The News app is only available for those in the USA... Which is really stupid. I was looking forward to having it. You can switch your region over and it will appear, but then all your other information (currency, etc) will be displayed as American information.
I wish Apple didn't exclude people from features just because of their location

In this case, I'm guessing they have to negotiate with some major content providers. You'll probably get it pretty soon unlike other US only updates.
Can someone explain if Siri suggestions works on what I do on my ipad plus my iphone, why I got suggested on contacts I did not use for couple of weeks, neither txt, phone call or contact them in any other applications, instead contacts I recently used...
Thanks in advance for your help

That's a relief.
I always appreciate a good article, but is no one editing for accuracy, here?
The article states:
No, Apple hasn't. That's not the home screen. The home screen is your first page of apps.
Then:
It isn't?

I was about to go off on the first comments calling it "beta".
